Itinerary:
Day 1: Upon arrival at the airport, Bono Tours and Safaris will greet you, or a representative will pick you up from your residence or airport, then proceed to Madikwe River Lodge - Madikwe Game Reserve. The journey to the lodge takes approximately 4 hours. Upon arrival, the Madikwe River Lodge staff will warmly welcome you, assist with check-in, explain lodge operations, and introduce you to your field guide for the duration of your safari. After check-in, you will be escorted to your room to freshen up before departing for the afternoon game drive to experience the BIG FIVE and the wonders of nature that afternoon. Refreshments will be provided during the safari. Return to the lodge in the early evening, where dinner will be served.
Day 2: An early wake-up call will be followed by meeting your guide at reception for tea and coffee before embarking on a morning game drive. Spend the morning observing African wildlife, then return to the lodge for breakfast. The remainder of the day can be spent relaxing by the pool, in your room, or visiting the SPA (at your own expense). Later, depart for the afternoon game drive.
Day 3: An early wake-up call will be followed by meeting your guide at reception for tea and coffee before embarking on a morning game drive. Spend the morning observing African wildlife, then return to the lodge for breakfast. The remainder of the day can be spent relaxing. Later, depart for the afternoon game drive.
Day 4: An early wake-up call will be followed by meeting your guide at reception for tea and coffee before embarking on a morning game drive. Return to the lodge after the morning game drive, enjoy breakfast, and check out. A Bono Tours and Safaris representative will then transport you back to the airport or your residence, leaving you with cherished memories.

Located in the North West Province, Madikwe Game Reserve shares its northern border with Botswana and is nestled between the Dwarsberg Mountains and the Marico river. Thanks to a diverse range of habitats, from acacia savannah to riverine, the reserve is home to a unique mix of wildlife including wild dogs, cheetahs, lions, both white and black rhinos, buffalos, and elephants. The reserve features a brilliant display of bird species and is one of the rare wildlife reserves in South Africa that is malaria-free. The ‘Operation Phoenix’, initiated in 1993, facilitated the relocation of over 8,000 game animals into the park over six years. Predators including cheetahs, wild dogs, hyenas, and lions from the Etosha National Park (Namibia) and Pilanesberg National Park were introduced into Madikwe in 1996. Furthermore, an influx of 180 elephants from Zimbabwe’s drought-stricken Gonarezhou Game Reserve also occurred.
