The Constitutional Hill Human Rights Precinct is home to South Africa’s highest court, founded on the constitution. During this tour, participants will explore the history of the site, which was initially a fort for the Boers and later became a detention center for political activists before they were transferred to larger prisons like Robben Island. A guided tour of the precinct will reveal the former prison cells, offering an emotional insight into the prisoners’ living conditions. Visitors will also have the opportunity to see the main building of the Constitutional Court, where all nine judges convene to hear appeals.
