During the 2.5-hour journey, travelers will enjoy views of the expansive Gobi Desert, charming villages, lush grasslands, and majestic snow-capped mountains. The grottoes are carved into the cliff of a valley, with cave 25 being the best-preserved. The murals, featuring large scripture drawings and portraits of Buddha, showcase the advanced painting art of the Tang Dynasty from over 1300 years ago. The scripture drawings on the southern and northern walls of cave 25 are particularly large and colorful, with rare line drawings.
