The Qiao Family Compound was the former residence of Qiao Zhiyong, the third-generation business magnate of the Qiao family in Shanxi Province. He amassed his wealth through banking, pawnshops, and teahouses.
The entire courtyard comprises 6 main courtyards and 20 smaller ones, with a total of 313 rooms. Guests can follow the tour guide to the pavilion for a panoramic view of the entire complex.
Then, they can stroll through the halls and courtyards with the tour guide to appreciate the exquisite Qing Dynasty-style architecture and stunning brick carvings. These carvings depict figures, allusions, flowers and plants, birds, beasts, chess, and painting and calligraphy.
