Jinka-Mago National Park-Jinka
Mago National Park - Upon arrival at Jinka airport, you will be greeted and picked up in a well-maintained 4WD equipped with modern AC systems and charging facilities. The journey continues to the Ari tribe’s village, located on the plateau lands surrounding Jinka, the administrative town of the lower Omo Valley….
Jinka-Mago National Park-Jinka
Mago National Park - Upon arrival at Jinka airport, you will be greeted and picked up in a well-maintained 4WD equipped with modern AC systems and charging facilities. The journey continues to the Ari tribe’s village, located on the plateau lands surrounding Jinka, the administrative town of the lower Omo Valley. Experience the village life by trekking from door to door, where you will enjoy meeting the locals amidst their daily activities. Engage with their warm hospitality as they welcome you to their communal village compound for a coffee. After this enriching experience, which lasts approximately 2 to 2.5 hours, we return to town. After packing camping equipment and cooking materials, along with our professional team, we drive to the Mursi tribal communities’ deep village, passing through Mago National Park. This is a unique opportunity to experience authentic, unaffected cultures. We will camp within their communal village compound.
Jinka-Turmi
Turmi - After enjoying breakfast prepared by our cook, we will explore the village and observe the morning activities. We then drive back to Jinka and proceed to one of the weekly market destinations to attend the most vibrant market in the Omo Valley, held every Thursday. This market is a gathering place for the Ari, Banna, and Tsemay tribes in one open area. Witness the tribal societies’ trading activities and discover their daily necessities. After spending some hours at the market, we drive to Turmi town, home of the Hammer Tribe. Overnight stay at Emerald Lodge.
Turmi-Konso
Konso - In the morning, after breakfast, we drive to the Karo Tribe’s village of Korcho, located near the shore of the Omo River. Here, you will have meaningful interactions with the unique Karo tribes, known for their small population size. Explore their villages by walking through and engaging with them in their homes. After spending ample time in the village, we drive back to Turmi and then to Konso. Along the way, we will stop at beautiful panoramic viewpoints for a visual and mental treat. Visit the ancient and historically significant village of the Konso tribes, a fortified city made of stone and clay mud, dating back 500 years. This site is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Overnight stay at Kanta/Korrupta Lodge in Konso.
Konso-Arbaminch
Arba Minch - In the morning, after breakfast, we will visit the ancient and historically significant village of the Konso tribes, a fortified city made of stone and clay mud, dating back 500 years. This site is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Following this, we drive to Arbaminch, passing through the beautiful landscapes of Gidole and Konso villages. We will arrive in Arbaminch in time for a farewell coffee or juice. Finally, you will be dropped off at the airport for your flight back to Addis.
