- Jeju Stone Park - Jeju Stone Culture Park is a historical and cultural space that showcases the stone culture, Seolmundae Halmang myth, and folk traditions that form the foundation of Jeju’s creation and human culture. The legend of Seolmundae Halmang, the goddess who created Jeju Island, and the five generals is depicted through various stone cultural relics and materials on the expansive 300,000 pyeong Gotjawal land. This park was designed as a place where both Jeju residents and tourists can directly experience and observe the lifestyle of Jeju’s people through its exhibition space. By highlighting Jeju’s unique identity, locality, and artistry, the formation process of Tamna, along with its mythology, history, and folk culture, is unveiled. The aim is to create the most beautiful educational space, organized by era, to pass on to future generations. This vision is a constant commitment of the Stone Culture Park’s planner.
- Seongeup Folk Village - 성읍민속마을 (Seongeup Folk Village) The entire village, which preserves the living site of old Jeju’s people, has been designated as an Important Folklore Cultural Heritage. Although it can be considered a folk village, it differs from typical ones as it is still inhabited today. The village residents serve as volunteer guides, providing visitors with a wealth of information. The Saw-leaf Zelkova and Japanese hackberry trees in the village center are particularly noteworthy.
- Gwangchigi Haebyeon - 광치기 해변 (Gwangchigi Beach) Gwangchigi Beach offers one of the most pristine and breathtaking views along Jeju’s coastline. In the distance, Seongsan Sunrise Peak, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site and a gem of Jeju Island, can be seen. The area is home to many trendy cafes and restaurants, as well as travel accommodations and family-friendly activities like the Aquaplanet Aquarium. It is also where Olle walking trails 1 and 2 meet.
- Seongsan Ilchulbong - 성산일출봉 (Seongsan Ilchulbong) Seongsan Ilchulbong Tuff Cone, a prominent attraction of Jeju, was formed approximately 5,000 years ago from a volcanic eruption on the ocean floor. It is renowned as a sunrise viewing spot, considered one of the top ten scenic wonders of Jeju Island. Besides sunrise viewing, Seongsan Ilchulbong Tuff Cone is also a popular trekking destination. The Seongsan-Ojo Trail connects two villages by crossing the peak, while the Jijil Trail offers a closer look at the UNESCO-designated geopark and Jeju’s local culture. Walking along these paths is recommended to fully experience the area; reaching the summit provides views of both the vast volcanic crater and the surrounding blue ocean. To complete the visit, head to Seongsanpo Port to watch haenyeo (female divers) in action.
- Seopjikoji - 섭지코지 (Seopjikoji) A short drive from Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak leads to Cape Seopjikoji. The name derives from the Jeju dialect for a “Cape of Small Land” due to its unique cliff formation extending into the ocean. The picturesque blend of hill and ocean attracts tourists year-round. Visitors might even spot Jeju ponies grazing on the grassy fields. Walking northeast along the cliff, one arrives at Bulgeunoreum Parasitic Cone, offering a stunning view of a white lighthouse against the dark blue sea. Additional attractions at Cape Seopjikoji include the Glasshouse and Yumin Art Gallery, two masterpieces by world-renowned architect Ando Tadao, which harmonize beautifully with the natural surroundings.
- Ojo-ri - This location is a filming site for the Korean drama “Welcome to Samdali” and is a charming, small village dock where visitors can stroll along a short promenade while enjoying views of the sunrise peak.
- Manjanggul Lava Tube - The Manjanggul Lava Tube stretches approximately 7.4 km and is partially multilayered. The main tunnel is 18m wide and 23m high, making it one of the largest lava tubes globally. While many lava tubes exist worldwide, Manjanggul Lava Tube is particularly significant due to its formation thousands of years ago and its excellent preservation, making it highly valuable to researchers and scientists. Due to the ceiling’s collapse, there are three entrances, with tourists allowed to use the second entrance and explore up to 1 km inside. The Lava Tunnel in Manjanggul Lava Tube features various cave formations, including stalactites, stalagmites, flowstones, lava tubes, lava shelves, and lava rafts. Notably, the lava column at the end of the tourist area stands at about 7.6m high and is recognized as the tallest lava column in the world.
