It is also known as ‘General Stone’ and ‘Grandma Rock’. Legend has it that General Choi Yeong adorned this rock like a general during a battle against the Yuan Dynasty, causing the enemy to self-destruct. Jeongbang Waterfall - 정방폭포 (Jeongbang Falls)
Jeongbang Falls is one of Jejudo Island’s top three waterfalls, alongside Cheonjiyeon Falls and Cheonjeyeon Falls. It is the only waterfall in Korea where water cascades directly into the sea. The fall is 23 meters high, and the two streams of water that plunge down the black cliff create a thrilling sound and a stunning view. Additionally, the steep cliffs and ancient pine trees surrounding the fall offer a picturesque scene, recognized as one of the Ten Scenic Sights of Yeongju, known as “Jeongbanghapok.” It is said that the words ‘Seobulgwacha’ are inscribed on the cliffs of Jeongbang Falls.
