Easter cape Garden Route -highlights and hidden gems- flexible and organized - I’m thrilled to have discovered this tour. It was hard to find a tour that covered the places I wanted to visit within a limited timeframe. Carlin made it possible, and I was able to see more than I could have ever imagined. I shared my must-see spots with Carlin, and he went above and beyond, suggesting some hidden gems along the Garden Route that I absolutely enjoyed! I went in October, and even though it was raining a bit here and there during my tour, I still had an amazing time. Carlin had ponchos/umbrella ready if I needed them. Carlin was always punctual when picking me up, and he was incredibly flexible. He always asked what time I preferred to be picked up and didn’t set specific times for visiting places. Because of this, I was able to see everything without feeling rushed. The tour started at Port Elizabeth and ended at George. We made many scenic stops along the way. We stopped by Jeffrey’s Bay/ Dolphin’s Beach - a must-stop for surfers (the water looked cold to go in but we saw some brave people surfing/training). Also nearby is Marina Martinique (man-made canals and nice houses). Tsitsikamma National Park - we passed by the The Big Tree-Outeniqua Yellowwood - just a short walk through the forest leading to the majestic tree from the entrance. Also- suspension bridges over the Storms River Mouth- amazing views! Bloukrans Bridge- I didn’t want to do the bungee jump- but I wanted to see where the famous spot was. Also, Nature’s Valley River Mouth- I could sit here all day- felt very tranquil. Plettenberg Bay has stunning beaches and is also known for whale watching. Knysna—you absolutely have to try the oysters here! I saw the biggest oyster I’ve ever seen. Carlin showed me different scenic spots with great views of the lagoon. From Knysna - we drove to Oudtshoorn- I know it was a little out of the way from the coast but I really wanted to visit an ostrich farm and the Cango Caves. The ostrich farm was fun for all ages. You get to feed the ostriches and learn a lot about them. The Cango Caves -impressive limestone formations. Each stop along the Eastern Cape Garden Route was unique and memorable. I’m forever grateful that Carlin was able to ensure that I visited all the places I had wanted to see. I highly recommend this tour—this trip is definitely an unforgettable one.
