Jeddah - We will start driving from Jeddah at 9:30 AM for an hour up north to the moon valley on Asfan Road towards the University of Jeddah, after which you will reach a village from where your hiking destination will be just 25 minutes away. To reach the valley, you will need a 4x4 vehicle since the terrain is generally sandy and rocky.

- Ghran - Moon Valley is located approximately 120 kilometers from Jeddah city. It has the best desert views and rock formations for hiking that resemble pictures of the moon’s surface.
The valley atmosphere is proper for a mediation session and connects better to nature (Bring your mat).
We will start heading back to the city after we take our last break in the Valley (Beverages & snacks are provided). Travel time back to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia is 1 hour.

it's worth getting up early for - we went with Jeddah Go Outdoors :
pick up on time at hotel,
excellent guide Maher : speaks fluent English, very friendly, tells about his country, showed the way on the rock
views were amazing, no other people (weekday)

Quick jaunt out of the city - Great little excursion to get out of the city for a bit and see the natural landscapes and interesting rock formations. Short scramble up and down but very happy to have had the opportunity to do it. Mohammed was very kind and everything was done at my pace and helped take a bunch of fun photos for me.

Sunset hike and tea under the stars - I had a great time on this hike. The sunset view from the top was incredible. Everything was so quiet and peaceful. Abdallah really looked after me. He made sure I was ok up and down the mountain, took lots of pictures and made me tea at the end of the hike. And by that time it was dark so we drank our tea under the stars.
The communication I received from Abha Trips before the hike was excellent. They kept me informed about the pickup and guide details.

Sunrise was spectacular - Excellent experience and very enjoyable picked up from hotel at 5am for sunrise trip. Walk was generally straightforward in trainers though a bit of a scramble at top,ably helped by guide Maher who was really helpful.
Lovely sunrise and no one else but us were there

Definitely do this! - A unique experience in nature, a bit challenging and quite exciting and scenery is stunning and like nothing you’ve ever seen. Wonderful guide - funny and warmhearted

Amazing Moon Mountain - Moon Mountain was really amazing, such a unique place to visit while in Jeddah. It’s an easy afternoon adventure with an incredible sunset from the top. I would call it a bit of a scramble rather than a hike, as climbing through and over the rocks. Our guide Adel was great, he was funny, easy to talk to and made the experience more fun.

Amazing experience worth every minute! - Thank you guys so much! We didn’t really check what awaits us but experience was outstanding! Thanks Faisal for guidance and warm welcome. Must try in Jeddah! Be prepared and dress special hiking shoes. This hiking requires basic athletic training because there are places where it is quite difficult to climb up 🔥

Well Organised Sunset Tour - Amazing sunset climb of the mountain. You need reasonable fitness and not afraid of heights. Rock climbing gloves are not necessary but would help. Finished with traditional tea.

Great hike, 10/10 recommend! - I had a fantastic experience! Abdullah was kind and I felt very safe the whole time! A bit of a climb, but so worth it. I did this as a layover tour while in Jeddah and it was a smooth transfer experience. As a solo female traveler, sometimes finding a good tour is tricky, but this was an incredible experience. I cannot recommend more!

Beautiful Moon Valley half day trip from Jeddah. - Perfect half day trip from Jeddah. Go in the morning as the heat is unbearable. Hiking to the top was great experience, fairly easy but bring good hiking shoes.
