Under the guidance of a knowledgeable local tour guide, you’ll have the chance to spot numerous native species. Encompassing creatures as small as a squirrel and as magnificent as a grizzly bear, the diversity is vast. Elk, moose, bears, sheep and deer are just a few of the animals you might encounter - all of which are residents of Jasper.
We also offer Private Tours.

  • To request complimentary pick-up from your accommodation, please specify which hotel you are staying at. Pickup times vary therefore your exact pick-up time will be confirmed upon booking.
  • If you are staying outside of Jasper, please specify Jasper Downtown Location - at Two Brothers Totem Pole across from Parks Canada Information Center on Connaught Drive. Your meeting time will be 15 minutes prior to your trip’s departure time. All-day parking is located in the parking lot.
  • Viewing will be primarily from inside the minibus however, at the discretion of your guide there may be times where you have the option to step outside at viewpoints. A small amount of walking may be involved.
  • Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult
  • This tour is not recommended for young children: The Wildlife Tour is typically geared more towards adults, providing educational commentary along the way. While wildlife sightings are frequent, the experience differs significantly from a zoo visit. Due to the unpredictable nature of wild animals, sightings occur intermittently during the 3-hour tour and vary from day to day. Based on our observations, young children often become restless as there are no scheduled stops on this vehicle-based tour. Therefore, we recommend a minimum age of 5 years. Although not recommended, children and infants under 5 years old are welcome, provided a seat is purchased for them at the child rate (all passengers regardless of age are required to be allocated a seat on the bus). For those bringing infants, we recommend bringing a baby carrier which can be secured with the provided seat belts on our buses.

Highly recommend! Kelli as your guide is the best! - Kelli was an amazing guide. So knowledgeable and passionate about Jasper and the wildlife, especially the bears. We saw SO much including a cinnamon black bear guarding his deer carcass, coyote and coyote pup popping out the den, elk, mule deer, mountain rams.l and more. She knew where to look and could spot an animal in the woods while driving with what I think was a sixth sense!

Wonderful wild life experience - Last minute booking and it was wonderful! Picked up from our hotel in a comfortable small group bus and dropped off too. Brent is a knowledgeable experienced tour guide and a great driver. The bear encounter stories will definitely be retold when we get home to the UK We were able to spot white tail deer and mule deer and a confident flock of male big horn sheep. We spotted the eagle on her nest and an osprey. But the high point was seeing the grizzly close up from the safety of the bus and watching the black bear feeding on the shore line- just doing what he does naturally. So privileged to have had this experience- thank you!

A great tour with lots of wildlife sightings! - Excellent tour! Our guide, Brent, really wanted us to have a great experience (which we did). He provided us with lots of great information about the animals and Jasper and basically everything we needed to know! He really was on the lookout for lots of animals (and always driving very safely). Although he couldn't make any guarantees, he seemed to know lots of places for possible sightings. We had a great evening and saw lots of animals! Even if we hadn't seen any animals, Brent took us to lots of great places. The tour would have been worth it even without the wildlife sightings - (which were a wonderful bonus). Pickup was prompt. Thank you to Brent and Maligne Adventures!

An Experience to be Repeated. - Our guide for the tour, Sierra, was fantastic. She is really knowledgeable. The guide cannot promise that you will see wildlife. But on this occasion we were really lucky. The first thing we saw was a grizzly bear. Other wildlife included black bear, moose, deer and birds. Highly recommended.

A Night To Remember - From pick up to drop off this was an amazing evening not to be missed, led by our incredibly knowledgeable guide Brett. He went way beyond expectations and enabled us to see long horn sheep, elk, black bears (one was cinnamon so very special), and the ultimate was a big grizzly hanging out close to Jasper township. Not counting several squirrels and a marmot or two, this was an excellent wildlife tour. The reality of wildlife tours is fickle at best, but on this occasion the only thing missing was a moose!! Great work Maligne tours and Brett particularly - that was a fantastic night.

Excellent Wildlife Tour - Jake was a fantastic guide and ensured we got the most out of our wildlife tour. We saw 2 black bears, 1 Moose, multiple Elk, White tailed deer, Mule deer and big horned sheep. There were no guarantees, so we set our expectations low, however we were really lucky to see the animals we did and so glad we did the tour! We also learned loads along the way. We got some tips on where the animals are at this time of year, so we made our own journey to a local lake and saw 2 more black bears! Thank you for the experience.

Most wonderful wildlife experience - We had the most wonderful time on the Wildlife encounters tour at 5:30pm with Sam. We saw sheep, deers, eagles, osprey, elk and the black bear! A 3 hour trip turned into 5 hours with Sam going above and beyond to find wildlife. Sam was so knowledgeable too. Thank you so much Sam, we can go home happy now that we finally saw a black bear, it really was a treat beyond words.

FANTASTIC TOUR - A 'MUST DO' ON A TRIP TO JASPER! - The highlight of our trip so far! Kelli our guide was so knowledgable about the wildlife, the environment and the history of the area, really interesting, and that was in addition to all the animals we saw! The 3 hour tour actually lasted 4.5 hours because we stopped the bus so many times, it was amazing! We saw 4 black bears, a Bald Eagle with 2 chicks in the nest, 2 Moose, an Elk, Marmots, Ground Squirrels, an Osprey, Rainbow Trout, Mule Deer, White Tailed Deer.... it was fantastic. Kelli took time to talk to us about each animal and gave us lots of time to take photos. She also had a selection of antlers and moulds of bear prints for us to look at and pose with whilst telling us all about them. We had an amazing time and would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area. Kelli is awesome!
