- San Sebastián - Following a delightful drive along the scenic road 544, the second stop is at “Puente el Progreso” to appreciate the stunning Sierra Madre Mountains. A visit to Carmen’s bakery is essential, where guests can enjoy freshly baked empanadas and traditional café de olla. Upon arrival in San Sebastian del Oeste, the tour includes a visit to the Sanchez family, who have maintained a Quinta built by their ancestors in the early 1800s, where coffee has been cultivated since then. Rafael Sanchez will explain the coffee growing and processing methods. A walk through the plantation is recommended to see other fruits grown in the area. There will be an opportunity to purchase coffee and other local products. Restroom facilities are available at this stop.
- Plaza Pública - As the tour proceeds to the town center, guests will see charming whitewashed adobe houses from the 1700s and 1800s. The highlight is a walking tour with expert guides to explore sites of interest and uncover the town’s beauty and history.

There is time for lunch if desired. The expert guide will introduce traditional local cuisine and recommend the best restaurants for lunch.
- Hacienda Don Lalin - The expert guide will introduce “Raicilla,” the traditional spirit of the region. At this distillery, the guide will explain the four steps of the “Raicilla” and Tequila process: cooking, milling, fermentation, and distillation. Guests will have the opportunity to taste both “Raicilla” and Tequila, as well as flavored tequilas like coffee, orange, and almond. There is time to purchase these traditional products if desired.

A wonderful way to spend a day and learn about Mexico. - We had a great day with Cervando. He is super knowledgeable about all things Mexico. He is also a wonderful person to spend the day with. I highly recommend this tour.

Wonderful, very personal tour by an engaging guide. - We had a wonderful, full-day tour with Cervando. Things started off a little difficult because the air conditioning in the van was not working properly; however, we were able to deal with it. Cervando picked us up right on time and we headed off to San Sebastian del Oeste. Throughout the drive there, Cervando shared information about the history of the region and the harvesting of agave to produce a local form of tequila called raicilla. We passed beautiful landscapes and stopped enroute at a lovely panaderia. The guava empanada was my favorite. When we reached San Sebastain, we walked all over town and Cervando seemed to know everyone and everyplace! We had a lovely lunch in a local restaurant and did some shopping. On the way out of town, we stopped for coffee and chocolate - again at a place Cervando knew well. Then, we did a raicilla tasting at a family-run distillery. All in all, a wonderful day - with particular thanks to Cervando, who was knowledgeable, articulate, well-prepared and fun to spend time with!!

This was a great all day... - This was a great all day (8 hours) experience from Puerto Vallarta to San Sebastián de Oeste. Cervando is a native Vallartense so really knows the history of not only PV but also San Sebastián. We saw some beautiful countryside, visited a coffee maker, a tequila/raicilla producer and had a great lunch. All in all, a lovely day.

Fantastic guide for a truly special experience - Cervando the guide and Victor the driver were fantastic. The tour seemed almost to be created for us on the spot. Cervando was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and kind. It was obvious that he cares passionately about the area and its inhabitants. We did so many fun things—having a goat milk and alcohol drink (that one of us milked the goat for) for breakfast, visiting a tequila distillery for a tasting, stopping by a field to learn about—AND PARTICIPATE IN—agave harvesting, learning about the history of this Pueblo Magico, shopping at a silversmith, visiting a local coffee grower and chocolatier, and having a delicious lunch at a farm-to-table restaurant. I very highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to get truly off the beaten path.

Wonderful personalized private tour - My husband and I had taken a wonderful 2 day tour of Guadalajara, Tequila and Tlaquepaque with Cervando and booked another tour to San Sebastián del Oeste with him. It was truly a perfect day! San Sebastián is a beautiful town and Cervando knew all the best places to show it off to its full advantage while adding special experiences catered to our interests. He always recommends terrific places to eat based on your preferences. He’s a delightful person, a very safe driver and a knowledgeable and engaging guide. We very highly recommend any tour with Cervando and My Tour Vallarta.

A Day Well Spent - Would highly recommend this tour! Cervando was excellent! We did his tour a few years ago and rebooked this year to take our friends - he did not disappoint. He shared his extensive knowledge about Puerto Vallarta and San Sebastian del Oeste and kept us entertained the entire day. We really enjoyed all the stops and his personal relationship with the people we met along the way. He was considerate and flexible. He added special cemetery stop at our request to learn about Day of the Dead traditions.

Great tour and we loved our guide Pepe! - We did the full day private tour to San Sebastian. Our guide for the day was Pepe - he was on time, friendly and professional, he spoke English very well, he knew all sorts of cool things about the area, and he showed us everything we wanted to see! It was such a fun day, and we were comfortable in the private van and able to stop for bathroom breaks, snacks, etc. whenever needed. We booked this trip on January 20 - which is the feast day of Saint Sebastian. It was so cool to see the festival and celebrations in the town. We also enjoyed stopping at local roadside vendors, tasting raicilla and other agave liquors from a local producer, tasting local coffee and chocolate, having a traditional lunch, and shopping for gorgeous textiles and artisan goods. This is definitely a fun day trip if you want to get away from the beach and see the mountains and the small towns of Jalisco.
