Incredible Lesson - I had such a great time at Cocalito Surf School. My instructor, Marlin, was awesome. He was incredibly patient, encouraging, and made the whole experience feel fun and comfortable from the start. As a beginner, I really appreciated how he broke down the basics and gave me plenty of time in the water to practice. I never felt rushed or overwhelmed, just supported the entire time. I learned a lot and had so much fun doing it. The price was fair as well as I only had a limited time but Marlin was able to teach me so much and still curate a supportive and fun experience. I would definitely recommend Cocalito Surf School and Marlin to anyone looking to learn how to surf or just have a great experience out on the water. I would absolutely do it again. 1st time surf experience - Great beach, convenient location, and friendly waves. I was laughing, surfing, and enjoying the lesson with the helpful staff. Everyone was kind with big smiles. Ask for Marlon if you go, tell him Kayla said Hi! 🤙🏼 In your lesson you’ll practice on the shore, stretch and prep, practice in the shallow area and then go out deep! It’s evident that Marlon enjoys his work and is genuinely cares about your experience!! He helped so much and was a great teacher, just like he promised. I doubted I could do it and he proved me wrong in the best way. 10/10, def recommend if you are looking for something fun and memorable to do in Jaco, or CR in general.

Great Surf Lessons With an Awesome Team - Such an amazing surf lesson experience. The entire staff was awesome from the very beginning. Marlon got us interested and excited about taking lessons, and Alfredo did a great job teaching us skills and techniques on the sand before we even got in the water. Darian also led a guided stretching session, which helped us feel prepared and comfortable. My group had instructors Darian, Robin, and Leo with us, and they stayed and guided us in the water the entire time. I felt very safe and supported throughout the lesson. The price was good for the level of attention and care we received. They even provided water and gave us a break, which we really appreciated. Special shoutout to Darian. He is so young but incredibly talented, patient, and professional, and truly one of the best instructors. I had a great time and would highly recommend these surf lessons to anyone.

Amazing - My children took a surf lesson with Marlon. He was very professional and always made their safety his priority. He was with them the whole time, teaching and guiding them. The lesson was wonderful for them and for me. Marlon explained everything very well and inspired them with his passion for surfing. Now they want to continue practicing this beautiful sport.

Fun new experience - Fantastic experience. The instructors were knowledgeable and fun. They were concerned with safety but also allowed us to progress at our own pace (dad, mom, 2 teenage boys and 11 year old daughter) The instructors recognized us the next day on the beach and allowed us to borrow boards to continue practicing. They seemed to genuinely enjoy their jobs. We created a wonderful family memory and possible new hobby.

Amazing Experience! Reinvigorating! - We decided to do a surf course on a whim, since we had nothing else to do. It was my first time, and I was BEYOND thrilled of this experience. It was a beginner's course of about 1h and I feel like I unlocked a new passion that I want to further experience in the future. My teacher was Alfredo, who I think is the owner of the school. He was THE BEST! Friendly and also got to the point in explaining things. He has a very great way of teaching and conveying the techniques to us. I will definitely book with him again if I return to Jaco. And I will never forget this experience as my first, when I further expand my new surfing passion! Thanks Alfredo and the rest of the team!
