Mount Inunaki is esteemed as one of Japan’s most ancient sacred mountains. Goma is a ritual practice in Shingon Buddhism, a branch of esoteric Japanese Buddhism.

Purpose: Goma is conducted to cleanse negative karma, eliminate obstacles, and grant wishes.
Setting: The ritual is performed in front of a sacred fire, typically outdoors or within a temple.
Process:
Participants inscribe their wishes on wooden sticks known as Gomaki.
These sticks, along with other offerings such as rice, incense, herbs, and oils, are placed into the fire.
The fire symbolizes the wisdom of the deity Fudo Myoo (Acala), who purges impurities.
Participants chant mantras and prayers as the fire burns.
