I recommend highly - Our guide was fabulous and I don't remember her name... short dark hair very very informative and educational. We took our time and I have been on this tour years ago but the new information and the helpful hints that our guide gave us were just phenomenal. There were only four of us that showed up for the tour so it was extra special to learn and take our time. 1 cup of did not speak English very well but our guide took the time to go back and review many of the places in Spanish for them. I thought that was very professional.

St Peter’s Basilica is breathtaking - We enjoyed our tour very much. The guide was extremely knowledgeable. As we went on a Sunday, we were only able to get into the Grottes and St Peter’s Basilica and we opted to do the dome climb as well. The queue to get into the Vatican does take quite some time and our guide told us it was a short line (took about ~1h). On busy days it can take several hours. However, the wait was well worth that initial entrance into the Basilica. It is just breath-taking. The grandeur of it is unimaginable until you see it for yourself. And even then, only once we got to the first level of the Basilica, did we really appreciate how tall and big everything is. Our guide was just full of knowledge and very personable which made the experience even more special. The dome climb is down without the guide but she took us all the way to the start of it. The climb itself isn’t too bad (much easier than the Florence Duomo climb), esp if you take the lift to the first level. The views are spectacular and even just swing the ground of the Vatican from above shows its splendour. The only thing we regret is that we went on a Sunday when we weren’t able to enter the Sistine Chapel. We only had the one day, so had no choice but make sure to plan in advance and go on a day when you can access the whole complex. I can only highly recommend this tour company and taking a day to explore the Vatican. You won’t regret it.

Enjoyable - Our tour guide, Francesca, was professional and helpful. We had an hour-long wait on the line to enter (longer than we expected, but it's not a 'skip the line' experience) and she kept up a steady stream of interesting information about the location, which helped pass the time in a fun way. This is a five-star review, but I will note that Francesca discouraged us strongly from using the bathrooms before entering the dome - this was a big mistake! The bathrooms inside were hard to find and took a long time to get to. I don't know why she didn't want us to use the ones that were before the entrance, this would have been much easier and better. Overall though, Francesca our guide was great and this was a fun experience.

The tour guide Bognot was... - The tour guide Bognot was so good and he had a wealth of historical facts. Meeting with the group early in the morning (8.30) meant we had the whole day in the Vatican.

Good experience - This tour was great. Our guide was knowledgeable. We didn’t spend a ton of time in the grotto but got a great deal of time in the basilica. We did climb the dome and was like 551 steps, we didn’t use the elevator but there is that option for part of the climb. Be advised that you will have to wait to go through security just like everyone else, that line was over an hour long.
