Authentic experience - Anna and Dorothea immediately put us at ease. We prepared orecchiette in a real Bari bass with the help of Marica, a real Bari local. We tasted traditional orecchiette and then immersed ourselves in the preparation of the real focaccia from Bari. It was an authentic and convivial experience. Anna and Dorotea, in addition to giving us information about what we were doing, gave us a lot of advice about Bari old and places in the area to try. Pleasant experience and recommended.

Best excursion in Italy! - We were only in Bari for a day from a cruise ship and booked this cooking class. We were thrilled! Frederica walked us to the little kitchen and we met Merica (spelling?) who taught us how to make the regional foccacia bread with tomatoes and olives and of course lots of olive oil! We were hands on the whole time, learning the steps with the help of Frederica as interpreter and all around knowledge person of all things regional. Within a few minutes it was like being around the kitchen table at home, hands busy with the food prep and our mouths busy with the news, gossip, and stories of places we've been, traditions of the area, and what it's like to go to Grandma's house every Sunday for pasta and family time. We loved our experience, and since we were off-season, it just by chance turned out we were the only two in the class, so it was very intimate. Frederica gave us some ideas of things to do with our remaining time in port, and we left very full and happy. We will definitely be making both foods at home and hope to make Merica proud!

Best excursion of our trip! - This was the highlight of our cruise trip around the Adriatic. Frederica was so lovely and helpful and Merica (sorry for spelling!) was so good at demonstrating to us. Because we were off-season, we ended up just being the two of us in the kitchen and after a few minutes it felt like being home around the kitchen table, swapping stories and learning about Bari and traditions of the area while making orecchetti and eating the focaccia straight from the oven. The little kitchen is intimate, and we handled all the ingredients, had all our questions answered, and learned so much about the food of this region. The food and wine we ate and drank was incredible and we left so full and happy. I am so glad we booked it.

Disappointing Experience - We reserved well in advance, but the day before our cooking class, we were notified that the 7 pm time that we booked would be moved to 2 pm. This messed up the schedule for the rest of our trip. The cooking class itself was entertaining, but for this price I'd expect to get more than a burned focaccia and preciously cooked orecchiette in a thin tomato sauce. Great concept that has lots of room for improvement.
