- Corinth Canal - The Corinth Canal is a man-made waterway in Greece, linking the Gulf of Corinth in the Ionian Sea with the Saronic Gulf in the Aegean Sea. It traverses the narrow Isthmus of Corinth, effectively separating the Peloponnese from the Greek mainland, which arguably turns the peninsula into an island. The canal is constructed at sea level without any locks, stretching 6.4 kilometers (4 miles) long and 24.6 meters (80.7 feet) wide at sea level, which makes it inaccessible to many modern vessels.
- Mycenae - The archaeological site of Mycenae is securely nestled between two hills, with the lush plain of Argos extending before this ancient city. Mycenae was the most significant city on the Greek peninsula during the late Bronze Age and lent its name to one of the most innovative civilizations of that era: the Mycenaean civilization.
- Nafplio - Renowned as one of the most picturesque towns in the Argolis region (in eastern Peloponnese) and one of the most romantic cities in Greece, Nafplio served as the first capital of the newly established Greek state from 1823 to 1834.
- Palamidi Castle - The Palamidi fortress is a remarkable architectural achievement. Constructed during the Venetian rule in the early 19th century, it comprises eight bastions, each independently fortified, ensuring that if one bastion was compromised, the others could still be defended separately. The bastions are stacked one above the other and interconnected by a single wall. The Venetians named the bastions after ancient Greek figures, such as Leonidas, Miltiades, Achilles, and Themistocles, to highlight the castle’s strength.
