ARRIVAL DAY IN ISLAMABAD:

Islamabad International Airport - Most international flights land at Islamabad International Airport in the morning. Your guide will welcome you at the airport and then transfer you to the hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to recover from your journey. Later, when everyone has arrived, there will be a group briefing about the Snow Lake – Hispar La Trek. Depending on the time available, there may be an opportunity for some sightseeing in Islamabad, a city purpose-built in 1961 as the new capital of Pakistan.

SPECTACULAR DRIVE TO SKARDU

Nanga Parbat - Today, you will drive along the Karakoram Highway to Chilas, covering a distance of 461 km in 8-9 hours. You have the option to stay overnight in Chilas and then continue the drive along the Indus River to reach Skardu the next morning. Skardu is the capital of the Baltistan region.

DRIVE TO ASKOLI

Karakoram Highway - The following day, you will drive along the mighty Indus, Shigar, and Braldu Rivers to the lush green Shigar Valley towards Askoli. Askoli is the last village before entering the heart of the Karakoram. We will spend our first night under the stars in Askoli, which is high above the roaring Braldu River. Askoli is a single street of wooden houses, surrounded by irrigated fields of corn, potatoes, and apricot groves.

DRIVE TO KARIMABAD

Karakoram Highway - A jeep drive for a couple of hours to Nagar village along a narrow track before reaching the Karakoram Highway. You will then drive up the road to Karimabad, where we check into a hotel. The rest of the day is free to freshen up, relax, and explore the town.

SIGHTSEEING THEN DRIVE TO GILGIT

Hunza Valley - Today, you have the chance to explore Karimabad, an interesting town spectacularly situated on a hillside north of the road, with views of the fertile valley below (thanks to their extensive irrigation system) and glimpses of snowy mountains.

FLY TO ISLAMABAD

Gilgit Airport - We hope to take the early morning flight to Islamabad. If unable to fly, we will start the drive on the Karakoram Highway to Chilas (or Basham).

DRIVE TO ISLAMABAD

FLY BACK HOME-DEPARTURE DAY

Islamabad International Airport - After breakfast, you will be transferred to Islamabad International Airport for your flight back home. We believe that the Snow Lake – Hispar La trek will create amazing lifelong memories that will stay with you for a long time.
