Islamabad - Today, all guests will be welcomed at Islamabad airport and transported directly to the hotel. Those already in the city are welcome to join us at the hotel. It’s an ideal day to relax and overcome any jet lag. The only task is to exchange currency if necessary. Later, a group briefing will be held.

Scenic Flight from Islamabad to Skardu

Skardu - In the morning, we will take a flight from Islamabad to Skardu, weather permitting. This flight offers breathtaking views over the Himalayas and Karakoram, showcasing several majestic peaks, including Nanga Parbat (8,126 meters). If the weather does not allow for flying, we will travel by coaster (mini-bus) to Skardu, with an overnight stop in Chilas (approximately a 12-hour drive).

Shopping Day in Skardu (2,230 meters)

Skardu - While permits for the group are being secured from the relevant authorities, you have the entire day to organize your equipment and backpacks. Skardu has small mountaineering shops where mostly refurbished equipment is available. It is recommended to bring equipment from your home country. If anything is missing, don’t worry, assistance will be provided to arrange it from the market.

Trekking from Goro-II to Concordia - The Throne Room of Mountains (4,600 meters)

K2 Mountain - This is the final approach day, with Concordia as the goal in sight. The trek continues up the rocky moraine, revealing more of the towering peaks, culminating in the view of K2’s summit, rising over 4,000 meters above the valley floor. The views from the Concordia campsite are spectacular, featuring K2, Broad Peak, Gasherbrum, Chogolisa, and Sia Kangri, along with numerous smaller peaks like Marble Peak, Crystal Peak, and Mitre Peak.

Optional Day Hike from Concordia to K-2 Basecamp (5,000 meters)

K2 Mountain - An early morning departure to K-2 Basecamp offers a chance to meet summit expeditions. K-2, known locally as Chagori, is one of the most challenging mountains to climb, with a one in four fatality rate for summit attempts. The Art Gilkey Memorial will also be visited before returning to Concordia.

This is a long trekking day, but the terrain is manageable. The route follows the Asutin-Godwin glacier, directly reaching the base of the majestic K-2. Alternatively, you can relax at the Concordia camp and enjoy the stunning views.

Rest Day at Concordia with Spectacular Views

K2 Mountain - Today is a rest day to recharge for the trek’s most demanding phase. Activities include writing, reading, enjoying music, taking photos, or simply soaking in the breathtaking scenery. Small hikes around the Baltoro glacier, the world’s fastest-moving glacier, are also an option.

At this stage, if any guests are unwell or choose not to continue, the group will split; one party will traverse Gondogoro Pass, while the other returns to Jhola via the same route, rejoining in Skardu. Guides, porters, and cooks will be allocated accordingly.

Ascend from Concordia to Ali Camp

Climb from Ali Camp to Gondogoro La (5,600 m) and Descend to Khuspang (4,700 meters)

Trek from Khuspang to Shaiescho (3,440 meters)

Hike from Shaiescho to Hushe Village, and then to Skardu

Rest Day in Skardu

Skardu - Today is entirely free. You can rest, do laundry, relax, or engage in any preferred activities.

Sightseeing Around Skardu - Buddhist Rock, Cold Desert, Shangrila Lake

Upper Kachura Lake - Explore Skardu’s attractions, including the renowned Buddhist rock, also known as Manthal Rock. Visit the famous heart-shaped Shangrila Lake, locally called Kachura Lake. Shopping for souvenirs in the market is also an option. Enjoy the sunset at the world’s highest desert: the Cold Desert.
