Incredible journey with Trango Adventure - Trango Adventures was recommended by a friend. I joined their K2 Base Camp and Gondogoro La trek departure group as a solo female trekker. We had other trekkers from Europe, the USA and Australia. From getting information about the trip and Pakistan, to applying for the visa, everything was smooth. The entire journey was 20 days and was perfectly organised from start to finish.

Arrived at Islamabad airport, and the staff was already waiting for me, even though I arrived at an odd time ( very early morning). They transferred me to the group hotel, which was a pleasant place. Met with other fellow trekkers in the evening and took a flight to Skardu the next day. The Islamabad to Skardu flight was spectacular with a close-up view of Nanga Parbat.
Our journey from Islamabad to Skardu and back was booked in advance and exactly on schedule. Skardu to Askoli ride was an adventure in itself along the rivers. While many other trekking groups were stuck due to road blockades and a lack of staff, we continued without any problems to Askoli.
Our guide, Iqabal, was amazing, knowledgeable, professional, and always looking after every single person in the group. He was supported by the porters and worked as a team throughout the trip. The atmosphere throughout the journey was friendly, and the crowd size was perfect, not too many people, and not too quiet either. We were lucky with the weather and crossed the Gondogoro Pass completely alone, with no crowds, making the moment feel incredibly special and personal.
The view from the top of Pass is incredible. The descent was as tricky as the ascent, so make sure you have good trekking shoes. The terrain is very tough, so make sure you are physically and mentally prepared for this trip. I notice a lot of people were getting sunstroke, high altitude sickness and stomach problems. I must mention our cook, Akbar and the kitchen staff, who made delicious food throughout the trek. We were never short of food and hot water. We reached Skardu on time and caught the return flight back to Islamabad; everything was stress-free. The domestic flights and admission fees were included, which made planning simple and transparent.
There were no other hidden charges, which made it much more relaxing. This trek is best suited for trekkers who are moderately healthy and reasonably fit. If you are looking for a real mountain adventure with professional organisation, breathtaking scenery, and a safe, welcoming atmosphere, I highly recommend Trango Adventure.

An unforgettable K2 journey with Trango Adventure - If you’re looking for a top-notch experience for K2 Base Camp, Trango Adventure is the way to go. They are the actual local experts on the ground, not just a middleman. Everything from the airport pickup in Islamabad to the final trek back was handled with total professionalism. The food is honestly legendary you’ll be amazed at the fresh meals they produce on a glacier at 5,000m. More importantly, their guides are safety-first and know the Baltoro like the back of their hand. They treat their porters well, their gear is solid, and they handle the unpredictable Pakistani logistics so you don't have to. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a world-class trek with an authentic local heart.

A Journey of Endurance and Adventure - The journey involved long and challenging hikes over rocky trails and glaciers, which tested my endurance. Hiking on the Baltoro Glacier was difficult but rewarding due to the stunning mountain views. Reaching K2 Base Camp felt like a great achievement, but the toughest part was hiking across Gondogoro La Pass. The steep climb and cold weather made it exhausting, yet the panoramic scenery at the top made all the effort worthwhile. Overall, this trek was a perfect blend of adventure, hiking, and natural beauty.

Avoid this company Trango Adventure! - We were group of 10 trekkers, 1 from USA, 3 from UK, 3 from Italy, 2 from Greece and myself from OZ. Here are the blow ups summarized. 1- on the way to Askoli once we reached a bridge that we have been told its damaged for jeep to go over it, we had walked over the bridge, and at the other end of the bridge the guide asked to pay tip for the drivers of $20 US, we yet have not reached Askoli! 2- while on the trek I did suffer heat stroke around third day after Pajiu and the guide didn't even recognised it, I was throwing up with no nothing come up and the guide was sitting watching about 10 meters away, didn't come and check or ask me what I was feeling like. When reaching the camp, he didn't come to my tent and didn't come and see if there something that can be done or offer. all the help I have got was from fellow traveller whom was a nurse and recognised my condition and provided measures to lower my body temperature and made sure steady hydration. 3- When we reached Concordia I have suffered shortness of breath and I have advised the guide that this is altitude effect and that Diamox tablet to address it but he again failed to recognise and keep asking if I had headache which I didn't so he didn't consider it as altitude sickness. 4- On the day for crossin GGLA he didn't make a decision to cross or not, instead several of us went and spoke to Spanish and American group leaders to get information about weather forecast and conditions and whether it is goor no go. 5- on our way back from Askoli to Skardu we have to wait for our drivers for 3 hours, after first hour passed I have asked the guide if he called the drivers to find out where were they?(every other group their drivers were waiting for them at the pickup point somewhere along the way between Askoli and Skardu as some of the road has fallen in the river). He said he didn't as he doesn't credit on his phone to make a call! the drivers came after 3 long hours in middle of nowhere under the sun 6- When we arrived to Skardu we have been advised that our flight was cancelled by the airline though the weather was perfectly sunny and no winds. The company sales person then came during dinner and said this is the car (14 seater small bus, please keep in mind we were 10 trekkers + 10 duffle bags + 10 backpacks + driver + guide) we have advised them that the bus is not suitable for the long trip along karakoram highway and boy we were correct, the bus heats up and we have to stop several times and go and try to get water from creeks near by, plus the bus struggled to go up the hills several time. Finally after struggling for several hours, Pakstani police came to our rescue kindly, they gave us lift to top of Babuser Pass and the bus was driven without us so it can make to the top since it was not capable to take the load. Needless to say, to left Skardu at 5 AM and we reached Islamabad at 3:00 AM next day! Was horrible experience they never intended for us to fly to cut the cost, as I mentioned, the weather was prefect, sunny and no winds, all other groups their flight weren't cancelled.
