• Lok Virsa Heritage Museum - The Heritage Museum, also known as Lok Virsa Museum, is overseen by Lok Virsa - National Institute of Folk & Traditional Heritage. This museum, located in Islamabad, Pakistan, on the Shakarparian Hills, celebrates the vibrant cultures of Pakistan.
• Faisal Mosque Bus Stand - The stunning Shah Faisal Mosque, situated at the base of the Margalla Hills, is among Asia’s largest mosques and showcases a unique fusion of ultramodern and traditional architectural styles. Featuring sloping roofs, unlike the typical domes of most mosques, the main prayer hall and courtyard can accommodate approximately 100,000 people. It was a generous gift from King Faisal of Saudi Arabia.
• Saidpur Village Road - Saidpur, a charming village renowned for its pottery, is now part of Islamabad. Located off Hill Road to the east of Daman-e-Koh, Saidpur was established by Sultan Said Khan, son of Sultan Sarang Khan. He married his daughter to Mughal Prince Saleem, who later became Emperor Jahangir. Historically a garden resort with a perpetual spring providing water for drinking and irrigation, it was a popular destination during the Mughal era. Recently renovated, it now serves as an appealing tourist spot with cultural exhibits and restaurants offering stunning views among the hills.
• Pakistan Monument Museum - This museum illustrates ancient civilizations, Pakistan’s freedom struggle, the country’s inception, and its significant achievements to date. It also features a reference library, audio-visual archive, conference hall, and a 62-seat auditorium, all located on the western Shakarparian Hills in Islamabad.
• Daman-e-Koh - Daman-e-Koh is a scenic viewpoint and hilltop garden north of Islamabad, nestled in the Margalla Hills. Its name combines two Persian words meaning “foothills.” It stands about 2400 feet above sea level and nearly 500 feet above the city of Islamabad.

Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan since the 1960s, was meticulously designed with a grid layout featuring clean, tree-lined streets and distinct sectors. Nestled against the Margalla Hills, which are part of the Himalayan foothills, the city is home to rare wildlife such as leopards, deer, birds, and porcupines. Several hiking trails lead to Daman-e-Koh, a popular picnic spot offering breathtaking views of the city, including the impressive modernist Faisal Mosque and the Rawal Dam.
