Not to be missed on your Golden Circle day - This cave tour was the highlight of our Golden Circle day because it was so unique & beautiful; we've never seen anything like it. The cave itself is gorgeous and our guide, Asja, was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and overall delightful. My daughter and I happened to be the only two on the late afternoon tour. Thank you for an educational and memorable experience!

Local history at it's best - We didn’t book a tour, we simply showed up hoping the experience would be worth the stop along our Golden Circle road trip. We can honestly say it was more than worth it. We were greeted with warm smiles and even offered a free coffee. David, our tour guide, was a wealth of information. From stories about the last family who lived in the cave homes, to the surrounding area and Icelandic tales of elves, every part of the visit was fascinating. We highly recommend making a stop to take in some local history and culture.

Definitely worth a visit - This was a last minute addition and we are glad we did. It was an easy side trip whilst in the area and we booked online on the day. The drive along the gravel road to it was great too. It was a different experience to the rest of our trip and was interesting to see how a family who had nowhere could create somewhere to live. The guide was very nice and explained everything well.

Interesting place - Tour with a really good narrator. Very interesting place but it must have been hard to stay there all year round. The place is not so far from the road there is an excellent gravel road down there.

I could have listen to the owner tell stories all day. - With no other affordable housing the young couple made these caves their home. The new owner tells the story of the families that turned rock into home, planted food, and survived Icelandic winters. For family, for community, and for the continued endeavors of teaching people from all walks and ways about Icelandic history, these caves stand as an emblem of strength, survival, and simplicity.

House in cave - Steep incline walk upto the house in the cave starts out gravel then dirt or mud depending on rain. Guide talked about 15 minutes the rest was taking pics. Not bad for price of it.
