- Amazon River - Day 1
The journey begins at 8:30 am, departing from the hotel or airport. The tour starts with a 1 hour and 40-minute drive in a private vehicle to the city of Nauta. From there, a traditional motorboat takes us to the camp in about 2 hours and 30 minutes. We navigate the two main rivers of the Amazon, the Marañon River and the Ucayali River. The camp is situated on the Yarapa River, within a protected communal reserve.
After lunch, the first excursion begins. By boat, participants will have the chance to observe river dolphins, including both pink and gray species. Following dinner, a night excursion into the jungle is planned to spot nocturnal creatures such as snakes, frogs, spiders, tarantulas, and more.
- Amazon River - Day 2
The day starts early with an excursion at 5 am, offering a chance to enjoy the stunning sunrise and observe colorful birds and monkeys. Upon returning to the camp, a delightful continental breakfast is served.
After breakfast, a boat trip leads to the first camping area. The second excursion of the day is a jungle walk, where participants can observe wildlife and learn about medicinal plants from the guide. Basic jungle survival skills, such as finding food and water or building shelter, are also taught.
In the afternoon, a boat or canoe excursion upstream on the Cumaceba River is planned to search for sloths, macaws, various monkeys, and more. The journey includes passing by two beautiful lakes, surrounded by breathtaking nature. In the evening, a night boat excursion is organized to look for alligators.
- Amazon River - Day 3
Early morning canoeing offers the opportunity to observe bird species found only deep in the jungle, away from native communities. A walk around a lagoon provides a chance to spot tracks or the presence of animals like sajinos (jungle pigs) and capybaras.
A walk to see one of the giant tree species in the Amazon, which can grow over 65 meters tall, is included. A night excursion is planned to search for night monkeys, small cats, and possibly a jaguar along the riverside.
- Amazon River - Day 4
After breakfast, a visit to a lake is planned to see the famous giant water lilies. As the final highlight of the 4-day, 3-night tour, participants will have the chance to fish for piranhas, the most dangerous fish in the Amazon River. If successful, there is an opportunity to taste the catch for lunch.
After lunch, the return journey to Iquitos city begins with a boat ride to Nauta city, followed by a car ride, arriving around 5 p.m. Participants are then dropped off at the airport or hotel in Iquitos city.
