Arrival in Iquitos - Transfer to the Lodge

Iquitos - Transfer from the hotel or airport in Iquitos. Enjoy a stroll through the city center, exploring the main church, Casa de Hierro, Malecón Maldonado, and historical houses from the rubber era. Proceed to the river port to board an outboard motorboat. Cruise along the Itaya River for 15 minutes before entering the Amazon, the world’s longest and most voluminous river, a natural wonder where you can spot gray and pink dolphins. Continue navigating the Amazon River to the lodge, where you’ll be welcomed with a refreshing fruity soda. Receive general information from the guide and check into private bungalows. Enjoy a typical lunch. In the afternoon, take a walk through the jungle to discover the area’s flora, fauna, and biodiversity. At night, experience a jungle walk, listening to the diverse sounds of insects, birds, and other wildlife. Dinner will be followed by captivating jungle stories narrated by the guide. Overnight stay at the lodge.

Visit a Riverside Community

Iquitos - Engage in bird watching in their natural habitat, either on foot or by canoe. Enjoy breakfast. Embark on an excursion to visit a riverside community, where you can appreciate non-poisonous constrictors, sloths, turtles, and more. Learn how to make sugarcane juice in a traditional way, and taste the juice along with its derivatives like rum and molasses. Return to the lodge for a typical lunch. In the afternoon, visit the riverside village “Gallito” to learn about their activities. Weather permitting, witness a stunning sunset. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Amazon Lodge – Return to Iquitos

Iquitos - Enjoy breakfast. Go fishing on the banks of the Amazon River for catfish, piranhas, and more. Observe the Victoria Regia, the largest aquatic plant in the world. Return to the complex for a typical Dorado fish lunch. Head back to the city of Iquitos and visit the native Bora Bora community to learn about their customs, language, clothing, and traditional dances. It is recommended to bring items to exchange for handmade crafts. Arrive in the city of Iquitos and transfer to the hotel or airport.
