Arrival in Iquitos - Transfer to the Lodge

Amazon River - Upon arrival at the Iquitos airport, guests will be greeted and transported to the port to board a boat. During the journey to the port, there will be a brief introduction to the city and its surroundings. In the afternoon, a canoe ride with a knowledgeable native guide will be offered, allowing guests to observe the local flora and fauna and learn about the various uses of plants by the local community. Dinner will be served at the Lodge, where guests can enjoy a delightful meal and relax at the cozy bar. As night falls, an excursion will take place, either by foot or canoe, through the intriguing jungle to spot tarantulas, cicadas, spiders, and praying mantises, as well as to hear the calls of owls and “ayaymamas” and other nocturnal creatures. Overnight stay at the Lodge. Note: Flights must arrive before 8 am for transportation.

Amazon River - At dawn, around 4:30 am, an excursion will allow guests to witness the breathtaking sunrise in this unique landscape. This morning walk will provide an opportunity to observe and learn about the area’s native birds in all their glory. In the afternoon, guests can try their hand at Piranha fishing, either using traditional methods practiced by local indigenous communities or with modern equipment for a more enjoyable sport fishing experience. Swimming in the Amazon River is also an option. Guests will have the chance to observe pink and grey dolphins, appreciating their beauty and grace throughout the Amazon River. Overnight stay at the Lodge.

Amazon Lodge – Return to Iquitos

Amazon River - Breakfast will be served at the Lodge, followed by a jungle trek to explore the “La Ceiba de la Selva” tree, known to the indigenous people as Huimba, which is nearly 500 years old and stands at an impressive height of up to 160 feet with a diameter of 10 feet. Check-out is at 12:30 pm, with lunch at 1:00 pm at the Lodge. Guests will be transferred at 2:30 pm, navigating the Amazon River for approximately 1 hour, before returning to the airport. Arrival in Iquitos is expected around 4:00 pm. Note: Flights must depart after 6 pm for transportation.
