The route ascends the renowned stone steps of “Vradeto,” consisting of approximately 1,500 stone steps, 39 turns, and two single-arched stone bridges. This trail was the sole connection for locals to other villages in the Zagori area until 1973.
- Vradeto - Near the end of the trail and at the entrance of “Vradeto” village, hikers will find the Saint Athanasios church. Vradeto is the highest village in Zagori, standing at an altitude of 1,340 meters, with its first settlers arriving in the early 17th century. Visitors can enjoy a coffee or refreshment in the village center.
- Beloi Viewpoint - The journey continues with an easy trek to the “Beloi” viewpoint (altitude 1,400 meters), which means “nice view” or “nice balcony,” offering stunning views of the Vikos gorge and towering cliffs. Along the hike, one can admire the remarkable rock formations and, in spring or summer, the rare wild lilies.
- Kokkori Bridge - On the return, there is a brief stop at the most famous single-arched stone bridge in Zagori, known as “Kokkoris” or “Noutsos,” which links the traditional villages of “Koukouli,” “Vradeto,” “Kipi,” and “Vitsa.” Constructed in 1750, it is nestled between two steep cliffs, serving as a climbing site for advanced climbers, with a length of 25 meters and a height of 11 meters above the river.
- Asprangeloi - Before heading back to Ioannina city, there is an opportunity to savor local culinary delights of the region.
- Monument Zagorian Women Pindos - The final stop is to view the statue of Zagorian Women, which honors their contributions to the armed forces during World War II. The statue stands 6 meters tall and weighs 2 tons.
