Kapesovo - The village of “Kapesovo” is charming and traditional, with a small population but abundant beauty. Adjacent to the village “Vradeto,” you’ll find the “Vradeto steps,” renowned as one of the most beautiful stone steps in the area.
Tsepelovo - This mountain village is located on the southern side of Kazama peak on Mount Tymfi. A school was established here in 1700, a time when schools were scarce in the Zagori region.
Σαρακατσάνικη Στάνη - Covering an area of approximately 20 acres of forest, consisting of fir and pine trees, a complex was constructed to authentically recreate the Sarakatsani lifestyle.
Kataraktes sto Iliohori - From the village of Iliochori, visitors can journey to the Balta di Striιga waterfall.
Konitsa Bridge - Located at the southwestern point of Konitsa, at the entrance to the “Aoos” valley, stands the large Konitsa bridge, built between 1870-71 by a team of 50 craftsmen. The bridge was funded by donations from the city’s residents. Previously, a wooden bridge was constructed in 1823 at the same site, but it was destroyed. The current stone bridge measures 36 meters in length and 20 meters in height.
Tzoumerka Villages
Kipinas Monastery - Situated in Kalarites, Tzoumerka, Kipina Monastery is one of Greece’s most remarkable monasteries. The small church, crafted from wood and stone and built into a rock, is awe-inspiring. The monastery dates back to around 1212. A road leads to the base of the cliff, and from there, visitors must follow a path carved into the rock and cross a wooden bridge to reach the monastery.
Kalarites - “Kalarites” is home to renowned tailors, builders, merchants, stone craftsmen, and silversmiths. Along with “Syrrako,” it is a traditional settlement and tourist destination in the mountainous “Tzoumerka.” The natural beauty is breathtaking.
Pramanta - This settlement is perched at an altitude of 840 meters, amphitheatrically positioned at the base of “Strogoula” mountain (2,107 meters), possibly the most majestic peak in Tzoumerka. A 500-year-old plane tree and the historic “Arapis” fountain dominate the main square, adjacent to the main church of Agia Paraskevi.
Anemotrypa Cave - Discovered in 1960, the “Anemotripa” Cave in Pramanta was found through a small opening in the rocks, from which cool air flowed, leading to the exploration of the cave’s interior. It is the only cave in Greece traversed by a river, allowing for natural self-purification without human intervention, making visits truly delightful.
Frasta - The Plakas bridge, constructed in 1866, was once the largest single-arched bridge in the Balkans, with a span of 40 meters, a height of 19 meters, and a top opening of 3.2 meters. From 1881 to 1913, the bridge served as a border between Greece and Turkey.
Theodoros Papagiannis Museum of Contemporary Art - This museum is unique because it features works that celebrate Epirus and its history, highlighting what has brought it honor and respect among Greeks. It uniquely addresses themes such as bread, benefactors, exiles, intellectuals, Epirot craftsmen, shepherds, farmers, the enduring Epirot mother, and education.
