- Victoria Falls - Stroll through the trees and be amazed by Victoria Falls. From the car park, there are splendid views over Loch Maree, and a short path leads to the viewing area for the falls. Named after Queen Victoria, who visited in 1877, the water cascading down the falls originates from Beinn Eighe, a majestic mountain south of the loch. This area is a National Nature Reserve, perfect for exploring the ancient Caledonian Pinewood and mountain environment.
- Red Point Beach - Traveling along the south side of Loch Gairloch, pass through charming settlements and villages like Badachro, Opinan, and South Erradale before enjoying a walk on Red Point Beach. The views to Rona and across The Minch to the north of The Isle of Skye are unparalleled.
- Gairloch Museum - Situated in a converted nuclear bunker, Gairloch Museum features galleries that highlight the history, culture, and natural heritage of the stunning North West Highlands. Exhibits include the original lens from Rubh Re lighthouse, a replica croft house depicting past lifestyles, and an interactive gallery about the magnificent natural world. Enjoy a meal at their delightful restaurant.
- Inverewe Garden - This heritage garden thrives with rare species as the Gulf Stream influences meet the Highlands. Discover the tale of a father and daughter who created a lochside garden in a barren wilderness on the Atlantic coast of the North West Highlands. Explore this experimental garden and marvel at the vibrant calendar of colors and scents, cultivated with care and creativity. Spot Scotland’s Big 5 wildlife: red squirrel, red deer, otter, seal, and golden eagle. You might even catch a glimpse of a sixth – the sea eagle! Don’t miss Inverewe’s towering California redwoods.
- Corrieshalloch Gorge National Nature Reserve - Walk across the suspension bridge as the River Droma rushes through a mile-long slot gorge below. Cross the bridge and be awed by the Falls of Measach plunging into one of Britain’s most spectacular gorges. Follow the woodland trails for views of the surrounding area and observe various fern species thriving in the gorge’s microclimate.
