we had a very god experience and we will do it again!
It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience with my 78 year old mother! Lilly made it a lot of fun giving us the tour!
We had a great time kayaking on the river and felt very safe with our guide
Very professional from start to finish. We were beginners and their emphasis on safety made all of us feel a bit better as we went out onto the water.
Ease of booking. Ease of checking in. Guide made the experience easy and enjoyable....and safe.
It was educational and fun. Will look into paddle boarding next.
One of most exciting things to do in Chicago.
Awesome guide. He had lots of patience and a great sense of humour.
The Urban Kayak trip on the Chicago River captured a unique experience from the duck's eye view of the city's incredible architecture. Our guide, Dave, was friendly, helpful during the lessons and on the river, and allowed us to go at our own pace (within reason). You WILL get wet, not soaked but legs will certainly get splashed on a few times. If you're exploring the city more before/after, bring a change of clothes and they have a side changing room with clean portable bathrooms and lockers to rent. If you have some kayak experience already and feel comfortable going out on your own (without the tour), I suggest skipping the intro lesson reservations online and call ahead/book the day of for your own 1-2hr kayak rental on the river. You may have a little more time to explore the river channels on an hourly rental. I wish we had booked the architecture kayak tour instead, although I don't know how well we would have been able to hear the guide over the noise of the river. Also, it was noted in other reviews the lack of customer service from the front desk staff. This proved to be true, no smiles or genuine interest in helping you besides going through the motions of check in. It was quite evident from start to end of our time there. The guide and staff on the river and with the gear were great, however, absolutely no issues there.
Everyone was friendly and professional. Ian our leader put our safety first so we could relax and have fun. We'll be back.
Our instructor (Mike) was extremely patient while teaching us the do's and don'ts of the river and kayaking. We had a great time and would do this again.
Great fun and a great way to see Chicago :)
Our guide was very friendly and knowledgable. He was very patient with our daughter!
Emily was great! The instruction was good and the time on the water was just right for a first time trip. Will be back
