Inishbofin, known as the Island of the White Cow, is situated seven miles off the coast of Galway. This enchanting island has become a popular destination for tourism, farming, and fishing. With dimensions of 5.7 km by 4 km, bicycles are the perfect mode of transportation.

Inishbofin boasts a variety of cycling routes that provide breathtaking views of the island’s rugged Atlantic landscape. The island features several safe, award-winning sandy beaches adorned with shells and offering crystal-clear waters, making swimming, snorkeling, and diving delightful activities. Inishbofin is recognized as a special area of conservation and protection.

The island has also emerged as a significant hub for traditional Irish music and song, featuring its own Ceilí band. It is believed that Inishbofin has been inhabited since as early as 8000-4000 B.C. Upon sailing into the harbor, visitors will notice Cromwell’s 16th-century barracks, which served as a prison for Catholic priests from across the country following the English Statute of 1585 that declared them guilty of high treason.
