Inhaca Island - Upon reaching Mozambique, travelers will arrive at Maputo International Airport, also known as Mavalane International Airport, formerly Lourenço Marques Airport. Here, a representative will greet them and ensure a smooth transfer to their hotel for an overnight stay at Maputo Hotel.

Maputo City Tour

Inhaca Island Full Day (weather dependent)

Inhaca Island - In the morning, guests will be picked up from their accommodation in Maputo. The exact time will be determined by the tides. Once the guide arrives, they will be transferred to a boat heading to Inhaca Island. A light breakfast will be provided during the journey. The day is free for guests to enjoy their beach retreat, whether exploring the island’s lush surroundings or relaxing in the Indian Ocean. Remember to bring a swimsuit! Lunch, featuring freshly caught fish, is included and will be served at the guests’ convenience. On the return trip to Maputo, there will be a stop at Portuguese Island. Expect to return to the accommodation between 4 pm and 4:30 pm, depending on the tides and weather.

Maputo to Swaziland Border

Maputo - After breakfast, guests will depart for the Swaziland border. Upon arrival, they will meet their Swaziland Guide and enjoy a delightful lunch at Hlane Royal National Park. Following lunch, a Sunset Safari drive offers a memorable wildlife experience.

Hlane National Park/Mantenga Cultural Visit

Hlane Royal National Park - Guests have the option to choose between a Hlane National Park game drive or a cultural village visit.

The day begins with an early morning half-day Game Drive after breakfast. Guests will return to the lodge for a satisfying lunch, and later, they can choose between a horseback safari or a walking safari for the afternoon adventure. Alternatively, they can explore the Mantenga Cultural Village and Waterfalls in the Mantenga Falls Nature Reserve, which offers a captivating blend of traditional harmonies and dynamic dances. After the performance, a tour of a meticulously reconstructed Swazi hut village from the 1850s is available. A brief ten-minute walk leads to the impressive Mantenga Waterfall. Within the reserve, guests can enjoy the culinary delights of a superb on-site restaurant/pub, serving a range of local and international cuisine. A visit to the King Sobhuza Memorial Park adds a touch of historical richness to the experience.

Umphakatsi Cultural Village and Ezulwini Valley

Swaziland to South Africa

Eswatini (Swaziland) - After breakfast, guests will depart for the South African border post. Upon arrival, they will check into the lodge, enjoy a delicious lunch, and embark on an exciting Hluhluwe/Umfolozi Game Drive for an immersive wildlife experience.

St Lucia Estuary Boat Safari

Eswatini (Swaziland) - Guests will be promptly picked up and driven to St Lucia Estuary in the Isimangaliso Wetland Park. Upon arrival, they will embark on a cruise, where the guide will provide information about the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Guests should keep an eye out for crocodiles, hippos, and other wildlife during the cruise. These two-hour outings are quite incredible, and the boats will get guests up close for some amazing photographs. Birding tours are popular, as are guided walks. St Lucia is surrounded by wildlife, including leopards, buffalo, antelope, and many other species. The boat ride will last approximately 2 hours, followed by an early lunch at a local restaurant in St Lucia. Afterward, the group will start heading back to the gate. With memory cards full and new friendships formed, guests will be dropped off at the hotel.

South Africa to Lesotho

Lesotho - The journey through Swartburg offers picturesque views of East Griqualand’s farmlands with traditional huts. Guests will experience a scenic drive through bushy landscapes, forests, and villages. They will traverse Matatiele in the Eastern Cape, bordering KwaZulu-Natal, before entering Lesotho through the Qacha’s Nek border post. Guests will explore rural Lesotho villages and cross the Orange River/Senqu, soaking in the region’s stunning landscapes. A delicious lunch will be enjoyed at Semonkong Lodge. Afterward, guests can visit the awe-inspiring Maletsunyane Waterfall, choosing between a 3-hour circular hike or pony trekking to viewpoints offering breathtaking views of the waterfall.

Koro-Koro Adventure

Lesotho - After a hearty breakfast at 7:00 AM, departure is at 8:00 AM from the lodge. The journey will take guests through Moitsupeli, where they’ll turn left towards Koro-Koro. They will enjoy a scenic drive through bushy landscapes, small forests, farmlands, and picturesque villages. Along the way, guests will see dense bushes and shrubs used for medicinal purposes, basalt stones with hardened bubbles, and rural settlements. A packed lunch will be provided.

As guests enter a rural area of Lesotho, they’ll have a chance to interact with the local population. The destination is a popular lodge nestled in secluded woodlands, surrounded by breathtaking countryside. After lunch, guests can enjoy optional activities such as hiking to Echo Caves or horse riding to Boitsela Waterfall.

Visit Thaba Bosiu

Thaba-Bosiu National Monument - Guests will journey to Hakome Caves, located near Teya-Teyaneng. In Ha Kome, there is an extraordinary village where dwellings have been carved beneath towering rocks. The current residents are descendants of the original inhabitants who created these caves in the 19th century. Today, the site holds National Heritage status. The current inhabitants continue to live much like their ancestors did nearly two centuries ago, preserving a cultural legacy left by those who occupied the caves throughout the years. Historically, this region was inhabited by cannibals, prompting past generations of Basotho to seek refuge in the caves. A parking area atop the hill provides access, allowing a 20-minute walk to the Ha Kome Visitors Centre. Here, guests will receive a guided tour of the caves, accompanied by insights into the history and culture of the people. Guests will overnight in Botleng Guest House or similar.

Lesotho City Tour - Departure

Lesotho - The day begins with an orientation tour of Maseru after breakfast, where guests can purchase local curios and stamps of Lesotho. They will witness the intricate process of crafting tapestries made from Mohair and Angora wool and take in the sight of the new Parliament building. Following lunch, guests will depart for Maseru Airport at 14:00 for their onward journey.
