Funaya - Visitors have the opportunity to explore Ine Funaya, often referred to as the “Venice of Japan.” Guests can stroll on foot or choose paid cycling options. Over 230 distinctive boat houses line the bay, offering the charm of an untouched fishing village. Visitors can also visit Funaya Biyori or INE COFFEE to enjoy coffee with views of the bay, while observing the unique structure of the boat houses: the ground floor is designated for boat storage, and the second floor serves as living quarters.
(Note for sightseeing cruises: This area is home to many eagles. If eagles are spotted, cease feeding seagulls immediately and store the feed to prevent being pecked.) - Ine Bay Sightseeing Boat - Experience a cruise at your own expense, spending approximately 25 minutes touring Ine Bay, with the option to feed seagulls. Enjoy the view of the funa houses from the second-floor deck, and cherish special moments with family (the boat departs every hour and half-past the hour, tickets are at your own expense: 1,200 yen for adults, 600 yen for children, 100 yen for a pack of seagull bait, and if the boat is suspended due to wind and waves, you are free to walk.) Note: Due to the presence of many eagles in the Ine Funaya area, please be cautious when on the tour boat. If an eagle is spotted, stop feeding the seagulls immediately and put away the feed to avoid being pecked by the eagles.
- Amanohashidate - This 3.6km sandbar stretches across Miyazu Bay, featuring pines, white sand, and breathtaking mountain-sea views. Visitors can take a cable car for a dragon-like panorama of Amanohashidate; visit Chion-ji Temple for blessings and fan-shaped fortune slips, and watch the swing bridge rotate for ships. Stroll among the pines to pray for love and purify hands at Isosui Spring. Enjoy free beach access in summer with full facilities.
- Kayabuki No Sato - Miyama Thatched-Roof Village, one of Japan’s top three thatched settlements, boasts over 40 thatched houses in Kitamura. Visitors can take photos with the red postbox, admire the intricate chigi and yukiwari roof structures; savor milk ice cream with village views at Café Gallery Saika; and explore the folk museum to learn about thatched-house structures and view traditional utensils.
