Incredible Mount Batur Camping Tour - I had the best experience. Nick was the perfect guide, because he was very attentive and brought us safely to the top. There was also enough food and water. I would do it again.

Amazing sunset tour on Mount Batur - We did the Sunset Trekking Tour on Mount Batur, and it was a fantastic experience! We were picked up at 1 PM, and after a 2.5-hour drive, we arrived at the starting point. Each of us received a bottle of water and a walking stick. The trail can be slippery in some sections because of the small loose stones, so the stick came in handy for extra balance. Our amazing guide, Nick, also offered to carry them when we didn’t need them. The hike itself was moderately challenging and got a bit tiring toward the end, but the view at the top made it absolutely worth it. Once we reached the summit, Nick offered us hot drinks, some fruit, and a snack bar, which was a lovely touch. The sunset was breathtaking, and the atmosphere at the top was calm—not crowded at all—so it was easy to take photos and fully enjoy the moment. Nick also took some fantastic photos of us along the way up and at the top, which we really appreciated. It does get a little chilly at the top, so bringing a sweater is a good idea. On the way down, our guide gave each of us a bright headlamp, which made it easy to see where we were stepping. At the more difficult parts of the trail, he guided us on where to place our feet. Overall, I’d highly recommend this tour to anyone who enjoys sunsets and wants a memorable experience on Mount Batur

Sunset trip - Had a fantastic sunset trip. We organised the entire trip with the company including pick up and drop off. Everything went smoothly and on time. Our guide Tana was brilliant throughout. He was very responsive to our needs and nothing was too much trouble. He took some incredible photos for us and the eggs at the top were cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend the company and Tana who made the whole experience unforgettable.

Batur at sunset - It deserves a little effort, because the natural spectacle and the company of the local guide (thanks Nick dispobilile, experienced and smiling) are unique. Few people at sunset at the summit. Flavio and Stefania

Very good but could be so much better - So having spent some time reviewing Mount Batur tours it seems the best solution is the over night camping. It was very good but could be so much better with a little more attention to detail. For example our driver who picked us from the hotel didn’t change gear in the car so it was raving at it high point most of the time and creating a washing machine effect and making us feel sick. This guy needs to learn to drive better stop eating and drinking and planning with the gps and radio and focus on driving better IGB Kusuma Jaya you get 1 star for your driving. Pick up 1pm in Sanur and drop off at next pick up 3.30pm. Meet a new guide Mang Yon lokal he was great such a nice guy and couldn’t be more helpful he was brilliant highly recommended. He informed me that for some extra cash we could get a Jeep to 70% of the way up the Mountain or for 700,000 we could get on the back of two motor bike and get taken 90% of the way up. This was the best idea ever and the best money spent 600,000 on the way down. The ride is 15 minutes instead of 2 hours walking for £15 each highly recommend and the riders are so good and careful. This allows you to get to the top and see the sunset with 2 hours spare for pictures and exploring. If you walk it’s 2 to 2.30 hours and very rough terrain and steep it’s like doing an iron man event. Get a bike or jeep for such little extra cost. Arrived saw the sunset and got hot drinks and some food, rice, chicken leg ( deep fried ) vegetable soup, tea, coffee, chocolate and banana. So well fed. Then a fire was made and shown to our tent, I think the tent mattress could be thicker to make it more comfortable and a blanket provided it went down to 10 degrees and was very cold so wrap up well and bring your own blanket they provided tent and pillows mattress and sleeping bags but was very thin mattress and still cold. I suggested hot chocolate and marsh mellows around the fire would be a good idea. You get woken at 4am to the sound of people chatting and bike roars the sunrise people are arriving. Come out of the tent at 5.30am to find the tent surrounded everyone waiting. Unfortunately the private area they have for camping doesn’t remain private and it should be to make it that much better for those camping our nice viewing bench was taken over by others. Behind you on top of the mountain is around 300 people it’s crazy like being at a football match but fairly organised as every few people have a guide. Some people are there trying to sell beers and jewellery items everyone is trying to make a buck. We had breakfast which isn’t great this too could be so much better who wants a banana sandwich urk ! They are cooking so a nice bacon or sausage roll would have been great. I guess they are selling these separately. There are various outlets selling food and drink. It’s very well organised to be fair at the top nice young girl doing the food and many guides. Surprised out of all the 300 visitors each day only 3 people camped over night but it’s the best experience you get sunset and sunrise and the bike ride up was excellent. The last 10% walk up is very rocky so wear proper climbing shoes long trousers warm coat and two layers plus a hat it’s cold in the night and morning. The guide took lots of pictures and he was delighted we got bikes because he gets to go for free up and down if you pay 300,000 each, each way so worth it. So overall very good if the area was kept private for campers and the food and tent was improved it would get 5 stars for now it’s only 4 stars. The guide was great shame about the initial driver I was hoping we had a different one for the way back to the hotel that’s how poor his driving was and for 2 hours in 3rd gear and his foot on off on off the accelerator making us go back and forth was not great plus the car didn’t have great air con. Anyway off for another adventure so catch you next time. They have a little kitchen place at the top and various outlet for food and drinks. The kitchen has been there 25 years. Wow.
