• Murinjapuzha Old Bridge View Point - Enjoy a backwater cruise on a traditional, non-mechanized covered boat (kettu vallam) or an open canoe through the narrow canals. Experience a village visit, observe freshwater mussel processing, coir making, and coconut leaf weaving, and interact with the local villagers. A traditional vegetarian lunch is served at a village house, with tea and snacks provided in the evening. An experienced English-speaking guide will explain the unique features of the backwaters, as well as the area’s flora and fauna.

Our backwater cruise is offered on a non-motorized boat, ensuring no environmental pollution. The first three hours of the cruise take place in a covered boat, providing a scenic and relaxing journey through village areas. During this time, there is a short village walk to experience local life and observe some of the spice plants cultivated in the area.

After lunch, the adventure continues with an open canoe cruise through narrow canals for about an hour. Upon returning to the village house, guests can enjoy tea or coffee. At the village house, there are demonstrations of coir rope making and coconut leaf weaving. The tour concludes with a return trip to Cochin by car or van.
