Fun excursion but wear sturdy soled water shoes - Zander was an awesome tour guide! Very knowledgeable, funny & attentive to everyone in the group. My daughter wanted a rainforest & waterfall hike; this was a great compromise vs. the more strenuous Damajagua hike & falls. You will need sturdy soled water shoes. You will be walking on rocks in the streambeds.
Dive into Adventure at Damajagua Falls
For those craving a bit more adrenaline, the 7 Waterfalls Excursion is a must-do. Available on May 25th from 12:00 AM to 4:00 AM, this excursion takes you on a scenic hike to the stunning Damajagua Waterfalls. Here, you can swim, jump, and slide down the natural water slides carved by the cascading falls. It’s an exhilarating experience that promises to leave you with unforgettable memories. A review from May 18, 2025, highlights the thrill of this adventure:
Damajagua Falls trip from Amber Cove - Had a great trip to the falls with DSRR. Cost WAY less than the ship excursion (~$50/ea). Was easy to get to our bus. Walk through the tourist containment area and out into the tour parking area that everybody walks to. Then head out another 2 or 300 yards through the gate to the highway that runs past the cruise port. You can only go left or right. I vaguely remembered reading left in my instructions, so I headed that way and just told the first Taxi guys I ran into I was looking for DSRR and they all started yelling for that guy to come get us. They drove us the 45 min or so up to the falls, and one of the guys went with us to take pictures. I didn’t really want the pictures, but the kid worked hard at it and was very pleasant. The falls were about a mile hike with a couple of steep hills. It was entertaining to watch the 2X year olds fall out whining while the 5X and 6X year olds walked around them. (Skip the buffet and find the gym Sweetie!!!) Don’t be in a rush, the park puts you in groups and guides you through the falls, and there’s a lot of folks, so chill out and enjoy the day. I really didn’t care about going on this trip, but as it turned out, I enjoyed it a lot more than I expected. Lilo, our driver didn’t kill us, which is saying something on those roads. (He was safe and competent, and attentive to our requests.) Ezequiel, was very personable and worked so hard at the pictures, that I gladly paid him the $60 to download them all. (He was supposed to collect cash, but we eventually sent it via phone. And it was a heck of a lot cheaper than the ships pictures at $25 a pop!)
