Exhilerating but strenuous - I am 77 years old and when I chose this tour the description called it a moderate hike. The hike was 45 minutes and uphill/ up stairs. Surfaces were rocky and sometimes hard to walk on. Yet, I don't regret doing this. I do regret not having better water shoes and would recommend a thick soled waterproof shoe before doing this. The slides, the jumps and the time in the river were refreshing and a great experience. Btw..of the 20 people in my group, very few struggled at any point.. KNOW YOUR PERSONAL LIMITS!

Falls and photographers review - must read - The falls were awesome. Despite there being a lot of people the guides seemed to move everyone along quickly. The only negative, and a highly disappointing negative, was the photographers provided by the falls that we paid $55 to take pictures for us. First, during the hike the photographers starting hustling to make more money by getting people on the tour to pay them for pics - despite us hiring them. At times, our photographer was not present to take our pic - we had to find and yell for him becuase he was taking someone else's Pic. Second, and most important, the pics came our horribly. They are blurry, not is focus, and zoomed in so much that you can't see the falls behind you. I recommend going to the falls BUT I highly recommend taking your own pics. Don't waste your money.

Start was bad - The tour itself was fine but only setbacks were that with arrival it took 1 hour before we were allowed in because outback adventures had not passed on that we came as a group of 5. If there was a call, there was no answer. And the tour itself in the water had to be done very quickly we didn't get time to enjoy the water just pictures and then on again.

BEWARE - BEWARE! My husband and I booked a tour through the cruise line. We were in the front of our group. Each group has two guides. One in the front and one in the back. In the group ahead of us they all decided to climb down a ladder instead of slide. The back guide went to the front to help and a lady in the back decided to slide down instead. She slipped and literally broke her leg off. Crews took nearly an hour to get to her with a stretcher and then they still had to carry her out which likely took minimum another hour just to get to an ATV and get her the rest of the way down. Watching happen was horrifying, but listening to her scream for that long was worse. This happened after the hike, but shortly after beginning the “waterfall” portion. Needless to say, our group was extremely cautious the rest of the way out. As others have said, the hike is quite daunting and not as short as advertised. I think our group took about 45 minutes to get to the top. Yes, the lines are long. The water is cold. Apparently, there are waterfalls there, but you don’t really see them on the tour. Everything is very very slippery. If you misstep anywhere, you’re likely going to fall. Having said all that, we did enjoy the portion prior to the incident.
