Arrival and First Impressions

Our family adventure began the moment we touched down at Dubrovnik Airport. We were warmly greeted by Zoran, our host for the week, whose welcoming demeanor set the tone for the entire trip. As we made our way to the villa on Korcula Island, Zoran shared fascinating insights about the region, its history, and its culture. The drive was a visual feast, with the stunning Croatian coastline unfolding before us, dotted with charming villages and lush landscapes.

Our first stop was in Ston, where we marveled at the largest stone wall in Europe. This historical site was a perfect introduction to the rich cultural tapestry of Croatia. We enjoyed a sumptuous lunch at Kapetanova kuća Restaurant, where the local cuisine tantalized our taste buds. The wine tasting on the Pelješac peninsula was a delightful experience, offering us a chance to savor some of the finest wines and oysters in the region.

Upon arrival at the villa, we were struck by its spaciousness and proximity to the water. The villa was impeccably clean and well-appointed, providing a comfortable base for our adventures. Blaza, Zoran’s wife, proved to be an exceptional cook, treating us to delicious breakfasts and lunches that fueled our daily excursions.

One of the highlights was a motor yacht tour that took us to explore nearby islands. The experience of snorkeling in the crystal-clear waters and enjoying a luxurious lunch on the yacht made us feel like millionaires for a day.

Kayaking was another memorable activity, allowing us to explore the hidden coves and beaches of the island at our own pace. The sense of freedom and connection with nature was invigorating, and our children delighted in the opportunity to paddle alongside us, discovering the marine life beneath the surface.

The buggy tour was a fun and exhilarating way to explore the island’s interior. We navigated gravel roads through olive groves and vineyards, eventually arriving at a secluded beach where we could relax and swim. The e-bike tour offered a different perspective, taking us through inland lanes and culminating in a wine tasting at a local winery. These activities provided a perfect balance of adventure and leisure, allowing us to experience the island’s natural beauty and cultural richness.

In addition to the organized excursions, we had ample time to explore Korcula Island on our own.
