Michlifen Resort & Golf | Ifrane - Maroc - A roadside stop in the largest cedar forest offers the opportunity to feed the local barbarian monkeys.
Aoufous - After enjoying lunch at a local restaurant, the journey continues to Merzouga. Along the way, there will be a stop to admire the panoramic view of the Ziz Valley’s palm trees.
Book Night in Desert - Arrival at the Merzouga desert is scheduled for the afternoon. Here, guests can enjoy a camel ride across the vast sand dunes to a luxurious desert camp. The camel trek takes approximately an hour and 40 minutes, with a stop on a high dune to witness a serene sunset over the Erg Chebbi dunes. Alternatively, a 4x4 vehicle can be used to reach the camp, which is included in the price. Upon arrival, the staff will guide guests to their private tents. After a delightful dinner, guests can relax around a campfire while enjoying traditional Berber music played by the staff. The evening concludes with stargazing before retiring for the night.
Merzouga - Rissani - Erfoud - Tinghir - Dades Valley
Rissani - If the visit falls on a Tuesday, Thursday, or Sunday, a stop in Rissani is planned to experience a traditional Moroccan souk, which operates only three days a week. The city is also the birthplace of Morocco’s current ruling family.
Fossiles d’Erfoud - Paleontological studies reveal that Erfoud was once a seabed teeming with marine life, much of which is now extinct. However, their fossils are well-preserved in the geologically stable area of Erfoud. The region is rich with mines and quarries, each with unique characteristics in terms of age, raw materials, and fossil colors. Ammonites, goniatites, and orthoceras are prevalent in this fossil-rich Sahara.
Todgha Gorge - The journey proceeds to Todra Canyon, Morocco’s deepest canyon, with cliffs over 300 meters high. A walk beneath this stunning canyon is planned before heading to the day’s final destination.
Dades Gorges - Arrival at Dades Gorges is expected in the afternoon. The itinerary includes a drive to view the remarkable rock formations known as monkey fingers, followed by a visit to a spot offering a panoramic view of the Gorges.
Boumalne Dades - Ouarzazate - Ait Benhaddou - Marrakech
Kalaat M’Gouna - After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, the journey continues to Ouarzazate, passing through Kelaat Mgouna, renowned for its roses. If the tour occurs in spring, a stop in a rose-filled valley is included.
Ouarzazate - Known as the Hollywood of Africa and the gateway to the Sahara Desert, Ouarzazate offers a visit to the Atlas Studio, the world’s largest studio by land area. Numerous films and TV series, such as Aladdin, Vikings, and Prison Break, have been filmed here. Guests can take photos from outside or choose to tour the studio’s interior, which takes about an hour and a half and requires a ticket (not included in the price). The tour continues with a visit to the Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah.
Ait Ben Haddou - A guided tour of the ancient Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou provides insight into its fascinating history. This fortified village is a prime example of Moroccan architecture and once served as a caravanserai on the Sahara Desert’s trade routes. The Kasbah has been featured in many renowned films and TV series, including Gladiator and Game of Thrones.
High Atlas Mountains - After exploring the Kasbah, the journey proceeds to Marrakech via the High Atlas Mountains, with stops for breathtaking views along the way.
Marrakech - Arrival in Marrakech is anticipated in the late afternoon, with drop-off at the nearest accessible point to the hotel or riad, marking the end of the Fes to Marrakech desert tour.
