The tale of Irish whiskey is truly captivating. Once the world’s favorite whiskey, it almost disappeared in the 1900s. Today, it’s experiencing a global resurgence, with over 50 distilleries producing whiskey in Ireland. This enjoyable guided whiskey tasting offers an insight into the thriving Irish whiskey industry, featuring a 6-part sampling of small-batch and rare Irish whiskeys from new distilleries.

The tasting is led by Whiskey Specialist Host and 2025 Icon of Whisky, John Callely. During our tastings, guests learn how to savor whiskey best, and we debunk myths, such as the idea that you can’t add water or ice to whiskey—because you absolutely can if you prefer. We also explore the differences between Scotch, Bourbon, and Irish whiskey. This is an exclusive tasting for you and your group, held at ‘the Snug’ in McGrattans, a centrally located Dublin pub.
