Begin your journey at an elevation of 8,200 feet in the Rocky Mountains, immersing yourself in the pristine environment of Clear Creek’s natural snowmelt in the historic mining town of Lawson. After a warm-up in the initial mile, you’ll encounter the steep and narrow rapids of Meat and Bones, followed by Lumpy’s, each nearly half a mile long and rated class IV+.
Next, experience our most popular river section, Upper Clear Creek Canyon, featuring continuous class III and IV rapids, including Nomad, Phoenix (named after the Phoenix Gold Mine), and the final rapid, Outer Limits, which will surely capture your attention as you make your way back to Idaho Springs.
