- Kleifarvatn Lake - Guests will be picked up from their hotel at approximately 9:00 AM, or they can meet at bus stop number 8, near Hallgrímskirkja church, at 9:20 AM. The adventure begins with a drive through an exciting lava field en route to the Reykjanes Peninsula.
Kleifarvatn Lake: The journey includes a drive past Lake Kleifarvatn, a lake uniquely formed by the tectonic activity and rifting of the Earth’s crust, where the Eurasian and North American plates are moving apart.
- Seltún Geothermal Area - A stop at the Seltún geothermal area is included. Here, geothermal activity brings bubbling mud pools, steaming ground, and vibrant solfataras to the surface. The stunning colors are due to sulfur, with white and yellowish-brown sulfates deposited.
- Gunnuhver Hot Springs - The tour continues with a drive to Gunnuhver, one of Iceland’s hottest spots. The temperature beneath the surface reaches approximately 300°C at this hot spring. Gunnuhver is named after a female ghost, Gunna, who was laid to rest there.
- Bridge Between Continents - A visit to the Bridge Between Two Continents is included. This small footbridge spans a significant fissure created by the tectonic activity and rifting of the Eurasian and North American plates.
- Blue Lagoon - The day tour concludes with a relaxing experience at the Blue Lagoon.
Return from the Blue Lagoon to Reykjavík is scheduled for around 4:00 PM.
