A Must Do! - Loved the super jeep! The ride itself was quite the experience! Caves were only a short walk up a small hill. Easy with the ice spikes. It was cloudy and end of the day so we didn’t get any colors but it was phenomenal nonetheless!

Awesome true experience - We booked the Ice Caves tour and we had an awesome time, the guide was super friendly and funny, the experience was really beautiful, and in their home page they show you exactly what you're going to see, some companies edit their pictures to make them more appealing instead of showing you true nature of the caves, kudos for them.

Great experience - Great experience - memorable ride out and back & interest commentary during the journey. Fun to see the ice cave - we were with someone who is a little unsteady on his feet but he managed really well with the crampons on & thoroughly enjoyed it (including going past a number of filming locations for well known films).

Incredible Winter Experience - We booked this tour the day before after our reservation for a similar excursion with a different company was cancelled. Pickup and drop off at bus stop #12 was easy and right on time, and there were 5 of us total on the tour for the day. Jón was very personable and knowledgable. He took us to another waterfall on the way to Seljalandsfoss (3 for 2 deal!) and throughout the day really made us feel like we were on an adventure. In Vík he realized something wasn't quite right with one of the van's tires, but he was able to have us switch vehicles for the glacier portion of the tour, and then we switched back after repairs had been made before our trip back to Reykjavík. The issue caused no more than a 5 minute delay which was much appreciated as it could've derailed the whole glacier/ice cave part of the day. It was only our group at Katla so we had plenty of time there, and Jón provided lights and helped take pictures. Some reviews say it's not worth visiting but I disagree. We had so much fun during the offroad parts of the tour. We could not have had a better experience, even as it rained on the black beach at the end of the day. Highly recommend.

Scenery out of this world and a brilliant and informative trip. - Amazing morning. Our guide and driver Gunnar was really friendly, informative and entertaining. The scenery was out of this world and we had plenty of time to explore the amazing ice cave. We even had a special treat experience on our way back. Brilliant!

Kayla Ice Cave, Small but Mighty - The trip to and from the cave was a cool experience in a massive monster truck. The cave itself was smaller than we expected but it was really interesting. Guide gave everyone ample time for photos and gave advice on the best way to take them. Mid day was best time to go, the winter light was perfect.

Davy and the great Glacier! - Our party was large enough that we got our tour all to ourselves. Our tour guide, Davy (David) was absolutely Amazing and one of the highlights of our trip. He was very informative and extremely personable. He shared his experiences with us and a lot of the great folklore of the land. Thank you, your very favorite Viking family... Yes - one of us left a faceprint in the slide of the glacier! Thank you, Kim!

Great way to get off the main road and tour spots! - Had a great time! Our guide was funny and had great info to share. He took the time to chat, not just roll off some facts from Google. Dont expect an ice cave that's 500m deep... remember, enhanced social pics foks post can make something look very different than reality. But if you want to see nature in its truest form, and can appreciate the wonder of how this is made and changes, you'll enjoy this up close look at Katla. Learning about its formation and how caves move and close/open each year is really interesting. Off roading to get there and walking on massive ice formations was fun too. Great way to see "raw" Iceland without a tour buses of people surrounding you.

The best experience - you have to book! - Gravel Travel are INCREDIBLE. We did the 9am tour today and we were very lucky - the only ones on the tour and the 1st snow of the season! There was nobody at the ice cave, and we got to spend so much time in there and take (too many) photos and videos…. The most amazing experience. As well, our guide was amazing. Lots of interesting facts on the way to the ice cave, stopping for some pictures on the way and super friendly! Thank you.
