Amazing day out - Had a great day on the way to orange bay stopped for 2 snorkelling trips where the staff make you feel very comfortable and explaining everything with reassurance and checking on you throughout the whole time. All staff are very catering always asking if everything is good or if need anything else. Food was an open buffet with choice that was delicious and then arriving at orange bay were we stopped for 2 hours and got to explore on your own and then set back. Highly recommend this trip it’s amazing.

Superb family trip - After our busy 3 days in Cairo, our first day Hurghada was so relaxing and beautiful with this team in their boat for snorkeling in the Red Sea and Giftan Island and Orange Bay. The food, drinks music made for a memorable days. We all loved it.

Orange Bay with Mo - Great experience! Snorkeling and good lunch on the boat. I wish I had spent more time in Orange Bay but it was enough to appreciate. Our guide Mo was very friendly and attentive, tried to show us the forks and other types of fish. We also fed the fish with our guide.

Avoid at All Costs: Food Poisoning, Scams & Unsafe Conditions on Orange Bay Trip - I booked the Orange Bay Island VIP Snorkeling Sea Trip with Lunch in Hurghada via Viator, operated by Nour Travel, and it was easily one of the worst travel experiences we’ve ever had. Date: April 10, 2026 Group: 2 adults, 3 children Boat: MarMar (run by Memo Aqua Center) From start to finish, this trip was poorly managed, misleading, and in some cases genuinely unsafe. Environmental Negligence (Shocking) The captain of the boat was seen throwing plastic bags and rubbish directly into the Red Sea multiple times, along with cigarette butts. This happened at least three times from the top deck while he was steering. For a trip marketed around coral reefs and marine life, this is completely unacceptable. Food Safety & Hygiene (Serious Issue) The food situation was beyond concerning: - Breakfast was just unrefrigerated salad, with no other options The same salad appeared to be reused later at lunch, where the food was cold, stale, and clearly not fresh. - Portions were extremely small, with not enough food or even forks for everyone - Utensils were dirty and had to be cleaned with wipes before use Staff were smoking directly near the food preparation area As a result, we suffered acute gastroenteritis (likely norovirus) shortly after the trip. The only “positive” was that the portions were so small that not all five of us got to eat, which means hat only 3 of us got severely sick. That says everything. False Advertising & Extra Charges The tour listing claimed food and snacks were included, but: - Snacks like chips were charged at $2 per packet - We were charged double for national park entry fees - Staff attempted to charge an additional $40 for transfers, despite transfers being included in the booking. This felt extremely misleading and opportunistic. Snorkelling Experience (Rushed & Poorly Guided) The snorkelling itself was a huge disappointment: - Extremely rushed, with no time to enjoy the reef - The guide constantly shouted the groups name “habibi, habibi” while rushing everyone along - No effort to point out marine life or explain anything - Felt more like a children’s swimming drill than a guided snorkelling experience Completely ruined what should have been the highlight of the trip. Dolphin Experience – Misleading The tour advertised a “90% chance of seeing dolphins”, which was a key reason we booked. However, the boat didn’t even go near the well-known dolphin area (“Dolphin House”), making this claim feel completely dishonest. Beach Stop & Hygiene Concerns - The beach stop at Orange Bay was only 1.5 hours, which is not enough time to relax. - Worse, after returning to the boat, staff tried to make 30 people wash their feet in the same two buckets of dirty water. This is extremely unhygienic, and we refused. Boat Condition & Overall Environment The boat (MarMar) was: - Old, dated, and poorly maintained - Dirty inside and uncomfortable - Infested with wasps throughout the trip Staff behaviour didn’t help either: - Loud crap music constantly playing, whilst they all jumped around and clapped like monkeys - Unprofessional and chaotic atmosphere - The photographer was rude and overpriced - Like the morning chaos, the end was the same. We were waiting for 20 minutes under the sun and herded like cattle into jam-packed vans without air-conditioning, to go to our hotels. Final Verdict This Hurghada snorkeling trip to Orange Bay Island was a complete failure across every aspect: safety, hygiene, honesty, and overall experience. - Between the food poisoning, hidden charges, environmental damage, and poor organisation, this is not something I would ever recommend, especially for families. - There are far better and more professional operators in Hurghada. - Avoid this tour and this operator entirely.
