Great! - We had a great tour in Luxor! Our guide was extremely competent, friendly and explained the history of ancient Egypt alive. The visit to the Valley of the Kings, Karnak Temple and Hatshepsut Temple was perfectly organized. Everything went on time and stress-free. Absolute recommendation for anyone who really wants to understand and enjoy Luxor!

Luxor and surroundings - We had a great time, the driver really good took us everywhere, the guide very nice, lunch is a tourist thing but acceptable, the only thing that is essential to know is that the services are always paid so prepare the coins

A day in Luxor - Great day, very well organized The driver very friendly and took good care of us. Drinks, we're looking for each other. The guide is excellent, he knows everything at his fingertips, answers all questions, chooses the best places. I recommend 300%

Great day in Luxor - but set your expectations right! - Great day to explore the tombs and temples. Knowledgeble and very nice guide and travelling in private transportation (nice car) made this a memorable day for our family, travelling with children (9Y and 7Y). Good to know though, is that the day is not a "private tour" in the sense that you will be alone with the guide - we were surprised to be joined by another party (of two) for the entire day in Luxor, and they were equally surprised! We didn't mind, but good to set your expectations right. Also, although the itinerary at booking said pickup at 5 am, we were told the day before the tour that the pickup was in fact 4:30 am. And this was non-negotiable. So don't book this tour thinking that you can sleep 30 min extra compared to other operators.

Worth a trip but know what to expect - We booked this as we didnt want the hassle of other people messing us around as its already a long drive. We really enjoyed the day, the guide was very knowledgeable and the lunch was great. Filled us up for the rest of the day. We got plenty of time at each stop but could have done without the Alabaster shop. Making out its all made in house (it isnt) and expensive - a small statue was "only €100" according to the worker. I wouldnt pay more than €30 for it. I would have bought some items had they been priced sensibly. You will stop at a services en route to get a coffee etc if you want, but I recommend getting a breakfast box from the hotel first. Be warned the services are full of cigarette smokers and the toilets aren't great. The only downside to the trip was that the driver who picked us up didnt know any english. Which made the 4 hour journey a bit boring. It was hard to know what was happening, was this our guide? Were we meeting the guide? In luxor they change drivers so the first one can sleep to take us back. But the 2nd drivers english wasnt overly brilliant either. So we still didnt know what was happening until we picked up the guide. I eventually got out Google translate on my phone to speak to the driver. Which he reciprocated thankfully. I would recommend maybe an email or WhatsApp message to outline what to expect from pickup. What would have been ideal is some knowledge being given on the journey. Even if it was just the last hour. Hard to sleep as well due to the Egyptian roads with the speed bumps and police check points but a few naps can be had on the journey. I recommend trying to sleep or download some movies to watch for the journey.

Intense but rich in experiences - Our guide was very friendly, adjusted well to us, was flexible and introduced us to Egyptian culture very lively. Also our driver was very friendly. While the return journey was completed in the promised 4 hours, the outbound journey unexpectedly took 6 (!) It took hours. We had the feeling that we were partly driving on non-tourist roads. Unfortunately, we arrived at our destination 2 hours late, which our guide thankfully made up for, so we could still experience the full program. We can look back on many impressive experiences and are richer by some impressions.

Rushed sightseeing - Comfortable private car and good driver. However upon arrival to the valley, we were grouped with a lot of other people we didn't know, including others with small children who also booked a private guide. We were told it was due to high season and lack of guides. We wanted to get the extra tickets for Seti etc at the entrance but were told the group cannot wait. Managed to book online whilst inside but others couldn't and missed out. If you want the extra tombs, book online in advance and focus on seeing those instead of the included ones! Our guide Mohammed was knowledgeable and helpful (got the tickets and grabbed golf buggies etc) but it was difficult at times to manage 4+ families. We were also taken to an alabaster factory which was not in the programme and we felt obliged to buy things. This shortened our time by over an hour so we only had about 45 minutes for Karnak at the end of the day, which is not enough. Lunch was good. The day could be improved with better communication about options and timings so people can have the most out of their visit.

Amazing sites, but the service didn’t quite match - Unfortunately this tour didn’t quite live up to expectations. There are many positives though so I will start with them. Firstly, communication with the company prior to the trip was good. We knew exactly when we would get picked up a full day in advance. Our hotel provided a packed breakfast and we set off at 4.30am in a clean, air conditioned vehicle. The driver was polite and stopped for a 10 minute toilet/coffee break on the way and way back. He swapped for a second driver in Luxor, who was also very polite. The journey was only 3.5-4 hours. We got back to the hotel before 6pm, much earlier than we expected. Our guide had all our tickets ready to use so there was no waiting around in ques. It was great to not have to wait for other people in a big group and it allowed for a bit of flexibility in meeting times. The boat tour was also private which was an unexpected bonus. The sites we visited were spectacular. Definitely worth the long drive. Now for the negatives. Whilst the drivers were polite, they said almost nothing to us, which isn’t a massive negative but the driver who picked us up and dropped us off spent almost the entire return journey either talking on his phone or texting. I didn’t feel entirely safe meandering across the road whilst he was looking at his phone, especially when the car alarmed every time he went over a certain speed, which was quite often. The tour description said we would get water. We were at no point offered water. We felt that the guide rushed us from one site to the next, giving us very small amounts of information. The longest time he spent talking was in Karnak, perhaps 20 minutes there but much less time at other sites. He also only gave us 30-40 minutes on our own at each site. Far less than the online description. We had read a review complaining about having to go to the alabaster factory and the company owner had responded saying it’s a private tour so tell the guide you don’t want to go. We weren’t interested so said at the start that we wanted to miss it out and have more time at historic sites. We were told we need to go because it will be interesting. It wasn’t and we were stuck there for 45 minutes while the guide went to mosque. Just before our lunch break we drove past an area that looked interesting and asked what it was and was given a bit of information but he didn’t tell us it was the Colossi of Memnon, which we were meant to stop at for 10 minutes, and didn’t. From reading other reviews about this company, maybe we were just unlucky that our guide was not more engaging. That would have made a big difference to our experience.
