The people we encountered were very cordial, knowledgeable, and punctual. They picked us up at the designated location right on time and shuttled us (my wife, my daughter, and myself) to the insertion point. Along the way we were provided a thumbnail history of the area and of the Swatara Creek. Once at the insertion point we were given a fairly decent tutorial on kayaking (we had canoed before, but never kayaked) and how to 'read' the creek for potential water hazards. They supplied us with life vests and containers for protecting our phones and car keys. My wife and I opted for a tandem kayak; my daughter (14 yrs old) a single. All the equipment was in very good condition and was well maintained. We opted to take a guide along on our trip and the person they supplied did a great job pointing out the wildlife (and other points of interest) along the way. It made for a very enjoyable experience! Paddling over a 5-mile stretch of the creek was quite the workout, but not regrettable for a person who spends a lot of time sitting behind a computer as a general rule. My family all agree that it was great to do something like this in the outdoors.
