- Truong Tien Bridge - Spanning the Perfume River in the heart of Hue city is the Truong Tien Bridge, designed by architect Gustave Eiffel, renowned for the Eiffel Tower in Paris. Built in 1897 during the ninth year of the Thanh Thai dynasty, it features Gothic architecture. The bridge measures 402.6 meters in length and 6 meters in width, comprising six steel girder spans shaped like a comb, each 67 meters long.
Having witnessed the many changes of the old capital, Truong Tien Bridge is a cherished historical landmark in Hue city. Despite having various names throughout history, the name Truong Tien Bridge remains the most familiar to everyone. This name originates from its proximity to the coin-molding site, known as Truong Tien of the Nguyen Dynasty, and Truong Tien Street, established by Emperor Thanh Thai in 1899. The bridge has inspired numerous folk songs and poems about Hue. Visitors can enjoy ‘Bánh mì’ bread nearby.

In 1885, it was completely destroyed by the French, and in 1887, it was rebuilt by King Dong Khanh. In 1899, King Thanh Thai relocated it to the south of the royal citadel, where it stands today.
