• Thingeyri - This two-hour ATV adventure in Þingeyri offers a fun and diverse way to explore the Westfjords landscape. Following a brief safety briefing, participants head off-road, crossing a shallow river and riding through a forest before ascending into the hills above the village.

The route leads to the summit of Sandafell, where expansive views over Dýrafjörður unfold. There is ample time to stop, take photos, and appreciate the scenery before descending, making this an exciting and picturesque addition to a visit to Dynjandi.

This adaptable 6 to 8-hour day tour combines one of the Westfjords’ most renowned natural attractions with a thrilling off-road adventure, along with the option to unwind afterward.

The day starts with a visit to Dynjandi, the region’s most iconic waterfall. A brief and picturesque walk passes a series of smaller falls leading to the main cascade, where the waterfall’s immense scale and power are truly impressive.

Next, the journey continues to Þingeyri for a two-hour ATV ride. The trail takes participants off-road through diverse terrain, including a river crossing and a forest section, before ascending to the top of Sandafell. From the summit, there are expansive views over Dýrafjörður before descending back to the village.

If time and interest permit, the day can be concluded with lunch in Flateyri and some time to explore this charming seaside village, adding a relaxed cultural element to an already varied and unforgettable Westfjords experience.
