I think it was very good, but I wouldn't squeeze everything in one lesson, there is no way I would need self rescue at my first lesson without the board. Covering so many aspects was a bit too much, and there is no way I can remember everything. I'd keep first lesson to start, landing, kite control and body dragging, and leave the rescue and emergency release for later session. I understand you probably are obligated to teach it, but again it was too early for me to absorb everything.

The equipment was in good shape and everything I needed was provided. The instructor did a good job of working at my level and allowing me to progress at my pace. Of course, the location is excellent for learning.

Melanie and Katie were both very welcoming, nice and helpful in learning how to get started with kite surfing. They made sure the gear was the right fit and let me help setup the kite for the first time as they went over everything. Out on the sand bar, we went over how to hook up the lines, link up the harness and get the kite up in the air. I was expecting a group lesson, but the 1-1 attention was definitely worth it while trying to get a feel for the kite. After a while there was the body dragging drills and then self-rescue to wrap it up. I'll be headed back for lesson #2.
