Explore Shanghai like a local. - The meeting point is a long way from downtown Shanghai but don't let that put you off. Its well worth the effort, we took a taxi there and returned on the metro, nearest station a 15 minute walk away. Mai was a great guide who spoke very good English showed us many of the highlights of Shanghai you could only experience on a bike or on foot. Shanghai is quite flat so perfect for cycling, we were a little apprehensive about riding a bike on the very busy roads but once you got "tuned in" to the traffic system it felt quite safe and definitely the best way to get around. Chinese food from a local restaurant was provided. Overall a great day and highly recommended.

Beautiful tour of Shanghai - One of the best ways for me to visit a city is to do it by bike. This Shanghai tour was really interesting, we saw famous and touristy areas of the city like the Bund, and the various concessions, and lesser known areas where I would never have happened alone. Mayfer, the organizer, is very nice and attentive. Visiting Shanghai by bike was really a fun adventure. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to get a good idea of the city in a few hours. Andrea

Cross and cross the Shanghai center - The tour starts near Dabaishu Subway Station, in an underground garage full of bicycles without bell or gearshift. Uh, yeah, I think I want a helmet after all...! But it turns out relatively quickly: Cycling on Shanghai streets is pure relaxation! Without exception, all car and scooter drivers are considerate, drive slowly, predictably and proactively. Tour guide Mei drives quickly but safely and unexcited in front. So there is plenty of time to let your gaze wander a bit. The zigzag trail leads through the three concessions (Japanese, French, British), through North Sichuan Road, to Duolun Road, across the Suzhou River, to Xintiandi, to People's Square... Wherever there is something interesting to tell, we descend (even in the middle of the street - no problem!) and listen to Mei's short lectures about Shanghai history, architecture, tourist insider tips and people's lives here. She herself is a native Shanghaian and knows the city like her waistcoat. Jiaozi and tofu are available for lunch in a small restaurant. Delicious! Overall, this tour is a really nice experience. Since you are actually on the road for almost 6 hours (about 4 1/2 of them on the saddle), you should only book if you have the seat meat and the endurance :)

I had a wonderful day in Shanghai - May was a very nice, helpful and lovely person. She showed us so many authentical sights of shanghai. Her englisch was very good. We ate delicious homemade dumplings. May also gave me for my next two days in Shanghai very good tips to go or not to go. Her recommondations were very helpful for me. She is an insider! She also showed me where i could get a wonderful and cheap massage. After the tour she even brought me to the massage and picked me up later. I really recommend this tour with May!!

An unforgettable experience - To do without a doubt! We had the chance to do this tour with May who was very professional and made us discover Shanghai with passion for our greatest happiness. The tour is easily accessible to as many people as possible, allowing us in one day to discover the best spots in the city as well as the hidden gems! I loved our tour in a park as well as the old Japanese concessions. Lunch was in a dumpling house, or the dumplings are handmade before your eyes before being cooked!!! The best I've ever eaten! We will come back for a night tour that must also be amazing! Thanks to Julia who kindly forwarded us the photos of our “bike tour”!

Best way to explore Shanghai - I was in Shanghai just for one day and wanted to explore the most in that time. Also, I love biking. So this was the best option for me. Actually I was pretty late on that day. Every other started their tour as per schedule. But they arranged a private guide for me. May was my guide and she was super friendly, kind and would explain whatever question you ask. Moreover, she is a good photographer. We went not only to the major sightseeing areas but also to the slums, shopping districts, etc. I would recommend this to anyone who wanna see Shanghai the most in a short time. But I think the price for this tour was a bit expensive may be.

Nice tour in the rain - Because of bad weather conditions, I was the only guest on this bycicle tour. So I had May as a personal guide 😎. Good quality bikes and there we go. Shanghai traffic is quite ok for bike tours. And May guided me safely trough the traffic. Because of easy access by bike you can see things that stay hidden by other transport. We visited the Japanese, French and British concession in Shanghai and surely the Japanese is a more hidden treasure. Sometimes May stopped and then we visited some markets or special shops. U Garden and other very typical places made the tour very interesting. For my job I was already many times in Shanghai. But thanks to May this time on the bike it was a real remarkable and typical tour. Only the lunch could have been a little more special. After all it was a very nice experience. Thanks May!! 😃

They didn’t show up at meeting point - OK there was a big trade show in town causing traffic problems. They apologized profusely. They immediately refunded what we paid. They offered a free bike ride later (but it was our last day in Shanghai). Nevertheless we have never been in Shanghai yet managed to make it to the meeting point far from downtown 15 early. They never showed.
