Yuanyang is famous for its rice terraces, considered the largest and most breathtaking in the world, meticulously crafted by the Hani people over a thousand years ago and still actively used today. These rice farmers practiced ecology and land preservation long before these concepts gained global recognition. Currently referred to as ‘land sculpture,’ these terraced fields have been officially recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage site.
Bada Terrace - Upon arrival, select the sites that interest you the most and begin your exploration. Typically, the journey starts from Qingkou Village. Qingkou Hani Village is a key area for the World Culture Heritage Site designation. It maintains a complete ecosystem comprising four elements: forests, water systems, mountain villages, and terraces. Follow the tour guide to explore their Mushroom House and learn about the Hani people’s folk customs, which feature a distinctive national culture, unique production, and lifestyle.
Spend the remainder of the day at Bada Terrace, the largest attraction in terms of acreage within the Yuanyang Terraces and renowned for its stunning sunset views.
Afterwards, you will be transferred to your hotel in Yuanyang.
