A pleasant day to Ngong Ping via Cable car - The cable car experience is fantastic — gorgeous views, smooth running , reasonable pricing. The Ngong Ping village is very pleasant and full of relaxing eateries. The small kiosks around the Po Lin Temple offers very reasonably priced drinks/dim sum/desserts. Everything is organised well; even the public toilets are well cleaned . I was pleasantly surprised as I thought it would be a tourist trap with extortionist prices. It isn’t. Well worth a visit, even for a Hong Kong returnee. (Tip: cheaper to buy tickets via a platform called Klook which is endorsed by the HK government).

Great cable car. Long wait. - It's a great cable car! I do not like cable cars, but this one was very stable. Great views and a good way to get to the Buddha. I took my visitor friends and they loved it. If you don't like heights, don't do the crystal cabin! Only drawback was the wait, we went on the thursday before easter and even with booking ahead we had to wait about an hour. Probably better during a regular week day. Would be better if you were given allocated half hour timeslots upon booking.

OMG that is HIGH!! - Amazing views but I wouldn’t recommend if you’re scared of heights! Unfortunately Ngong Ping and the Big Buddha were just too busy with too many tourists (of course us included) … a shame really but a great experience nonetheless and if you’re in Hong Kong with family or looking for a day trip - this is a must see. Perhaps go earlier in the day to avoid masses of people, be prepared to queue inside. We waited around half an hour.

Long queue - I went there on a Sunday afternoon. It’s a pleasant promenade that starts with a cable car ride from Citygate Outlets. However, on the return journey, there was a massive queue to take the cable car back. For that reason, I don’t think it’s worth it. I wouldn’t do it again. Not by cable car.

Is it worth the wait? You decide - It took us almost 2 hours to wait for cable cars to go up and down on a hot day. Of course you can pay more ,that is double the regular price, to take a crystal car which is a shorter queue. We did not opt for that option. The line hardly moved because operators allowed people in the organized tour to jump the queue and boarded those people first. I have been to places like that in other countries and experienced shorter and stress free wait. Need a big overhaul in its operation to improve visitors’ experiences. I will not visit again.

Expensive, long wait. - With very little option to get to the Big Bhudda took the cable car. The view is fantastic. We paid for the Crystal + and Standard cabin, it cost AUD$ 256 for 3, AUD$85 each, extremely expensive. A lot of money to go to a shopping mall with a fake bhudda that has no cultural significance other than sucking money from tourists. The starbucks says enough about the place. the queues were insane. Definitely not worth the time nor effort.

A big waste of time - It’s a fake village with a big Buddha. The tram ride was fun but it’s truly a waste of time and mostly an excuse to get some tourist $ out of you in their little village. It was so foggy that we could barely see anything though that’s not their fault.

Bad passenger station arrangement - Queuing is taking too long, it’s really bad experience and wast time for tourists. Ngong Ping could organize thepassenger station more better and leave vistors a good memory!
